Tom Cruise Re-Teams with "Oblivion" Director for "Go Like Hell" Car Racing FilmSubmit Comment
Tom Cruise is returning to the world of auto racing for the first time since his 1990s movie "Days of Thunder" by taking a role in "Go Like Hell," a new film that will re-team the actor with his "Oblivion" director Joseph Kosinski.

The story centers on the battle between Ford and Ferrari for dominance in the sports car marketplace. The project is based on AJ Baime's book of the same name, which recaps Ford's successful 1966 challenge to Ferrari with a car designed by Carroll Shelby.

Cruise would portray Shelby, who teamed with Henry Ford II and Ford executive Lee Iacocca to change the image of the Ford brand by making a splash in European car racing, which had been dominated by Ferrari cars.

The trio developed the Ford GT40, which became the first American car to win the 24 Hours of Le Mans and went on to win four years running.

God, I love the Shelby. Beautiful car. One of Man's greatest achievements.

Epic era of the history of Le Mans!

What the article doesn't say is the fact that Enzo Ferrari promised to sell his brand to Henry Ford because he had some financial problems but when Ferrari started to win consecutively in Le Mans, Enzo told Ford to go f*ck himself which infuriated him so much that Ford will do anything in his means to beat the bloody wop which he did brilliantly for 4 years in a row.

@Cannon

I fully agree but as much it's a beautiful car it's also one the most difficult car to handle. A real beast indeed.

Didn't he played in similar movie before? Or it could be a reboot for that movie. Can somebody tell what is the movie's name??

And I don't mean days of thunder..it's another movie with racing car in it.

@Cannon. Agreed.
This could be a great film as well.
