Paramount Pictures has unveiled the full trailer for "Anchorman 2: The Legend Continues," which brings back Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, David Koechner, Paul Rudd, and Christina Applegate. Check it out below.
An official plot synopsis has yet to be revealed, but according to director Adam McKay. "[The story takes place] when all the news started changing in '78 or '79. Local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors," he explained. "We know these guys never deal well with change, and there's a big blast of change coming. And they're not going to handle it well."
The rest of the cast includes Kristen Wiig, James Marsden, Dylan Baker, Meagan Good, Harrison Ford, Greg Kinnear, Josh Lawson, Vince Vaughn, Luke Wilson and Nicole Kidman. The new movie is set to hit theaters on December 20th.
So it's going to be 90 minutes, maybe more, of mild, played for laughs but really nothing more than racist stereotypes. For some reason people haven't evolved from d*ck and n*gger/spick jokes. And the gross infatuation with comic book movies is getting ridiculous.
I get it, but I don't. Why do people like to amount their taste to nothing more than recyclable filth? I'm sure I'll find out one day. Maybe I know the answer, but I'm just looking for a reason to bitch. Regardless I feel it's a valid question.

Said it before and I'll say it again... comedy sequels never work! Just end up inadvertently copying the original jokes especially in a film as quoted and hyped as Anchorman.

Been laughing my ass off at the Ron Burgundy Dodge Durango commercials which have no d*ck or n*gger/spick jokes. Does that count as evolving? :)

Jdl107 - when these movie companies finally realized they had huge annals of untapped stories of course the market was going to be flooded. There have been more quality suoer hero films than bombs, esp with marvel and the batman movies.
jdl107- I don't see where there's any examples of racist jokes in this film in all the footage they've released so far. Apart from the one scene around the dinner table where Ron says inappropriate things is just supposed to show that he doesn't have a clue about anything and that it's the 70s, he's got a black girlfriend though so he's hardly racist.
You're enforcing racism by getting upset about something like this, build a bridge son and get over it!
Assumptions get you nowhere Cinema is dead. I just read the "local news stations diversified and had Latino anchors and African-American anchors" part and decided I'd make a barely sophomoric joke with a bitter overtone. There's no need to get hostile.
"You're enforcing racism by getting upset about something like this, build a bridge son and get over it!"
Yep. Well you're gladly enforcing somewhat ignorant hostility without even bothering to discuss with me what I said first. And now predictably you're going to make a rude comment about how what I said wasn't worth making an effort to discuss with me.
I'm open to discussion, and I will gladly answer any questions you have over my intent and talk with anyone about what they interpreted from what I said. Please try that before you resort to petty attacks.
"Probably because d*ck and n*gger/spick jokes are still funny, at least when done right ...along with Jews, Asians, fags, Euro-fags and white trash jokes."
So that's why they're still around? That's why we still ask for forgettable crud like this? I'm just saying we should ask for more. That's all.
Don't worry, none of you are going to hear the trite "we cannot accept racism" sh*t from me. That's not why I made my comment and that's not what I set out to make a point of. I roll my eyes to that as well. As far as entertainment goes I just want more... And wish more people would want the same.
"Been laughing my ass off at the Ron Burgundy Dodge Durango commercials which have no d*ck or n*gger/spick jokes. Does that count as evolving?"
Sac. It's so sad watching you STILL try... It's almost like you're proud of your ignorance. It's almost like you really don't pay attention to the defecation that comes out of your mouth whenever you feel you need to comment on something. Oh, who am I kidding. Almost like? You don't. If you didn't you wouldn't be keeping it 3+ years in.
Those Durango commercials are funny as well. I cracked up at the one... Ah, I forget. But he had trouble pronouncing something, and it was great.
Regardless of whether this will feature n*gger/spick jokes, it won't be worth the money in my wallet. I made the mistake of paying for the rent of the first one, and wasting my time with it. That's why the Durango commercials are funny. Well, one was, the rest were mildly amusing. But that's why they were, is because the "comedy" of Anchorman is good only in portions.
As a whole it's just a stretched out bore with moments few and far between. I haven't seen a truly good comedy in... Jesus, I think over a decade.
jdl107- I'm not a guy to jump to aggressive comebacks unless I think the person I'm replying to has said nothing worth replying to.
To be fair I was at work when I wrote my reply to you and only skim read the first half of your comment before I replied. I agree with most of the things you wrote especially the part about comic book movies because that is definitely a widely spreading infection in the blood of Hollywood.
To be fair the majority of people that comment on this site chat a load of unintelligent bollocks (probably myself included) so I probably jumped to the conclusion that you were one of those posters and for that I apologise.
I think the reason Anchorman 2 is going down the route of introducing racial diversity to the film I stated in my first comment, comedy sequels use the same jokes. This time instead of women in the news room it's different races.
Me saying your enforcing racist stereotypes was me assuming you were black yourself and getting upset that a comedy film is talking about this in an obviously satirical way, so you're right my whole comment was wrong lol. Sorry pal.

So is jdl black or something? Because he sure bitches like one that's all "offended" by a snippet from the trailer that's pretty funny in the context of how much of a numbskull Ron Burgundy is.
Grow some f*cking balls and a sense of humor you big baby.
