Stephen Lang to Return as Villainous Colonel Quaritch in All Three "Avatar" SequelsSubmit Comment
It's tough to imagine that Colonel Miles Quaritch, played by Stephen Lang, would be able to return for any more "Avatar" installments. But now comes word from 20th Century Fox that Lang has signed on to play Quaritch in the next three sequels.

"Steven was so memorable in the first film, we're privileged to have him back," said director James Cameron. "I'm not going to say exactly how we're bringing him back, but it's a science fiction story, after all. His character will evolve into really unexpected places across the arc of our new three-film saga. I really look forward to working with such a gifted actor, who's also become a good friend."

All three films will be shot simultaneously starting in October of next year. "Avatar 2" will then be released in theaters in December of 2016. "Avatar 3" will follow in December of 2017, and "Avatar 4" in December of 2018.

Take the only interesting character in a sh*tty film and clone him. Why not?

Didn't he die in a big-blue-spirit-animal giant-robot-battle-mech knife-fight?

Perhaps the Na'Vi have some kind of Lazarus Pit kind of regenerative capabilities.

As for the release schedule...is James Cameron THAT greedy or is he that in need of cash?

No one cares.

The only "memorable" scene in the first film is where Lang punches a crippled in the face.

^^When did Lang punch Sam W in the face off-set?

Oh, you mean PHYSICALLY crippled. My bad.

This is the first good news about these needless sequels because Lang is a great actor.

Lang was one of the great things of an OK Avatar...

This guy was a f*cking force to be reckoned with... not this weak villains of Ribisi/ Fanco with Whalberg/ Statham. He fit pretty good as a villain.

I bet he could be an great antihero in a standalone film... I'd watch that.

thieve he has no ideas just stealing from other movies.

I'm pretty sure he was all flavors of dead, but knowing Cameron, he'll probably come back as either a navi, or a Jason X-esque Cyborg
