Vice President Dick Cheney Feared Assassination Portrayed in "Homeland" TV SeriesSubmit Comment
In the second season of Showtime's award-winning "Homeland" TV series, the Vice President suffers a heart attacks after a terrorist hacks into his pacemaker. Now that former Vice President Dick Cheney is promoting his new book, he spoke about whether something like is possible.

In a new interview with "60 Minutes," Cheney spoke about his health problems, which started with a heart attack at the age of 37. Since then, he's had four more heart attacks, open heart surgery, and even lived without a heart for a period of time until finally undergoing a heart transplant.

He went on to reveal that the "Homeland" episode is accurate, adding that he once feared that terrorists might kill him by using a wireless device to control his pacemaker. "I found it credible," said Cheney. "I know from the experience we had, and the necessity for adjusting my own device, that it was an accurate portrayal of what was possible."

Because of this possibility, Cheney met with his cardiologist in 2007 and asked to turn off the device's wireless function.

It's hard to kill Satan.

Control Cheney wirelessly?

A similar attempt was planned by terrorists by implanting a remote control chip in George W. Bush's brain, but they quickly realized he didn't have one.

Yeah, it's definitely hard to kill the f*cking bastard!

Wait....he had a heart to begin with.

Cheney sounds like a humongous coward and idiot if he thinks terrorists are going to "hack his pacemaker".

And y "idiot", I mean "what terrorist is going to take the time to kill Cheney?". What would it accomplish? Even back in 2007 or so, he'd have to be in range and he'd have to be in a position whereby the hacker had access to the device. Ensconced inside the White House wouldn't provide either to a would-be hacker-terrorist. Totally implausible scenario.

Anyway, here's a neat link that provides much more info than what Alex posted:

This is ridiculous, there's no way that someone could "hack" in to a wireless pacemaker on a computer somewhere else. You'd have to get so close that you might as well just stab them with a knife at that point.

^^Exactly. Sure, some guy "hacked" a pacemaker, but that was made possible because the damned thing was right under his nose for DAYS.

Give me a break, d*ck.

No terrorist worth their salt would spend the necessary time and effort to "hack" your pacemaker, when you're hardly worth the bullet they'd use instead.

Or, even more likely, they'd just do like the rest of us by NOT GIVING A f*ck ABOUT d*ck CHENEY.

Hack your pacemaker? What for? I could just spend 10$ in bullets in Amazon and find you. Geez you don't have to be so paranoid d*ck.

With enough money, anyone, anyone at all, can be killed, including d*ck "Deerhunter" Cheney.
