Spider-Slayer Robots May Appear in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"

Spider-Slayer Robots May Appear in "The Amazing Spider-Man 2"Submit Comment
"The Amazing Spider-Man 2" viral website The Daily Bugle has posted a new article about how Oscorp's stock went up despite an attack on Oscorp Tower by disgruntled Oscorp employee Dr Curt Connors (The Lizard).

The article goes on to say that the company is developing new projects, including a flight harness for the military. There are also "significant advancements in robotics by the head of engineering division, Spencer Smythe."

While it's difficult to say whether Smythe will appear in the sequel, he is yet another villain from the Spider-Man universe. Smythe invented the deadly Spider-Slayer robots to capture or kill Spider-Man.

What the hell are Spider-slayer robots? Sorry, I never read the comics. Spider Man is for fags.

Smythe was already in the tie-in game, which was apparently supposed to be in the same continuity as the movie, and i believe he died at the end.

Either way, they should probably stop trying to cram so much sh*t into this movie, the first one was already only a smidge better than Spiderman 3, and it had all the same problems ASM 2 apparently will have.

Finally got round to watching The Amazing Spider Man and was so glad I didn't spend any money to watch that sh*t. A franchise sucked dry by the Twilightification of modern cinema, with the stupid high school vibe and Emma Stone looking about 40 playing someone who's supposed to be what 17? I'd rather it be sucked into the soulless emptiness of the Nolanification of films with dark, hllow shells of story and characters, at least Peter Parker wouldn't be an unlikeable douche bag like he was for the entire film.

Will not be contributing towards another 2 or 3 films getting made on this sh*t.

@Cannon
I am just going off the 90's tv series but Spider-Slayers were literally these giant robots designed specifically to hunt Spider-Man. Spider-Man couldn't climb them or anything, they were designed to counteract all his powers. And Smythe , although in the series it focused on his son, worked for the Kingpin. Either way, they'll just look too corny in live-action.

@everyone
Is there any character they might NOT throw into this series?! What the f*ck is wrong with Sony Pictures?! Like seriously they were on Raimi's ass during preproduction of Spider-Man 4 but, what, they just thought "Let's let the director who barely managed to make a passable Amazing Spider-Man" play with millions of dollars and add random sh*t that will overload the story and make it less than passable?"

bad guys: rhino - check, electro - check, spider-slayers whatever - check.
not to worry, they'll probably bring back the lizard

Totally unrelated but I just saw Enough Said. The final film performance of James Gandolfini, f*cking amazingly well done film. Great little thing for him and his excellence to have left behind for us all.

Those "Spider-Slayers" are some pretty funky looking robots.

You know what, TanGuy, you're absolutely correct. This IS totally unrelated.

THAT is totally unrelated, rather.
