Ben Affleck Tried to Save "Runner Runner," But Failed

Ben Affleck Tried to Save "Runner Runner," But FailedSubmit Comment
"Runner Runner" thriller, starring Ben Affleck and Justin Timberlake, has an embarrassing 8% fresh rating on RottenTomatoes and was only able to gross $7.7 million during its opening weekend. While usually it's difficult to predict which movies will succeed and which will fail, it turns out that the film's poor performance wasn't much of a surprise to those involved.

The Hollywood Reporter says that "Runner Runner" was in such bad shape that Affleck brought on his editor William Goldenberg to help salvage the movie. Goldenberg recently won an Oscar for his work on "Argo."

The move improved the final version of the film, but ultimately, there were too many problems to overcome. THR goes on to say that part of the problem was that director Brad Furman lost control of the production early on, making it difficult for everyone to put together a quality film.

You mean to tell me a POKER THRILLER starring Justin Timberlake and Ben Affleck was NOT a great film? NO WAY!!

Uuh, I'll tell you why 'Runner Runner' bombed. Because it's a movie about...online gambling, starring two guys who should NOT be starring as the leads in a movie about online gambling, because, apparently, Boiler Room or In Time didn't teach studios any lessons.

Well, you got the message now, didn't ya, stupid motherf*ckers.

The only reason to see this movie is Gemma Arterton. And since she doesn't get nude... who gives a sh*t?

Justin Timberlake just needs to stop accepting masculine parts or action films, he has the voice of a girl and the screen presence of a tooth brush. His brain is as deep as a bowl of soup and his wit is as sharp as a soup spoon.

Yeah, right, Affleck. Just admit your deal with the devil is up and you are now waiting for him to collect his price.

The story is set after a devastating earthquake hits California and centers on a man making a perilous trip across the state to rescue his estranged daughter.

I'll rather watch Zulawski's movie Possession (1981) with a pre- Jurassic Park Sam Neill. That and for those who doesn't know, better to see that hearing the audio commentary the director speaks about production schedule and some other things!

Well, anyway, that movie alone (Possession, circa, 1981) is a good watch.

Cinema is dead owned this thread, and as for Cannon's comment, well, it was the kick-ass comentario.
