Kellan Lutz (The Expendables 3, Twilight) just unveiled a glimpse at the trailer for his upcoming "Hercules: The Legend Begins" movie, which will premiere the full trailer during New York Comic-Con this Saturday, October 12th. Check out the teaser below, in addition to several new photos.
Lutz is playing the title role, while Liam McIntyre ("Spartacus") will play a young army captain who becomes Hercules' most trusted battlefield companion. After an evil king deceives them, Hercules and the captain are sold into slavery and must fight side by side to earn their freedom.
"Hercules: The Legend Begins" is expected to hit theaters in March of 2014. Meanwhile, Dwayne Johnson and director Brett Ratner are working on their own "Hercules" film, which will be released on July 25th, 2014.

Will either one of these films have any blood in them or have anything to do with the real mythos and legends of Hercules (like his Labours)? In all of his tales I don't remember there ever being any gladiator arena fights or battlefields (he wasn't a soldier or general). Usually Herc's story's always involved him battling some huge monster or completing some huge feat of strength or ingenuity. I do realize that you can pretty much put the character in any situation but it just looks like these films are merely hyjacking the name and throwing it over sh*t we've already seen before (like Gladitor, Spartacus, and Conan). It just feels like a missed opportunity to do something different with the genre, but I guess when you're dealing with a character that spawned and inspired so many spin offs and copies over thousands of years its hard to display his story with any originality.

It's true! Hercules never fought in an arena as a gladiator. Hwood f*cking up again the original story/tale.
Besides I didn't see one drop of blood in that teaser. Looks quite gay actually.
