Michael Bay Plans to Direct a Horror Film, and Finance It Himself

Michael Bay Plans to Direct a Horror Film, and Finance It HimselfSubmit Comment
The Hollywood Reporter contains an article about today's top twenty masters of horror. While it goes on to name people like Guillermo Del Toro, Stephen King and Chloe Moretz, it also mentions Michael Bay.

Bay is one of the heads of Platinum Dunes, the company behind remakes of "Friday the 13th," "A Nightmare on Elm Street," The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" and "The Amityville Horror." But Bay's contribution to horror will soon go beyond that.

"I have a great fantasy — that I will probably make a reality — of directing my own self-financed horror movie," Bay told the newspaper. "I love this genre because the movie is the star."

Bay is currently working on "Transformers: Age of Extinction," his last installment in the franchise. But now that he had a chance to direct "Pain and Gain," one of his many passion projects, he may want to continue down that path and give horror a shot.

A horror movie with explosions. And to think he already made that one. It was called Revenge of the Fallen.

Uh-huh. Look at those films. How awful they've become.

A huge fan of the old versions of Elm Street, Texas Chainsaw and Friday the 13´th but except from the Elm Street remake I think both Texas Chainsaw and Friday are quite good slasher remakes- better than Paranormal,Saw, Hostel and all the other new garbage !!

His own horror movie huh?

I was gonna dump on the guyr, but I gotta say it's kinda interesting...

If he finances it, he'll budget it and try to be more bare bones about it to save money which ultimately give us more bang for our buck....if he tries to keep the budget low, who knows how he'll do?

Look what he did with Pain & Gain...that really changed my mind. Bay has potential to be a real director.

And if you ask me it's about time. What's the alternative? More Wan variations of horror movies? More lame remakes? How f*cking bad can Bay's be?

Let the c*cksucker try...that's all I'm saying.
