Harrison Ford Confirms Talks For "Blade Runner" Sequel

Harrison Ford Confirms Talks For "Blade Runner" SequelSubmit Comment
Ridley Scott has been working on a sequel to "Blade Runner," claiming that Harrison Ford will not be returning. But now comes word directly from Ford that he's in talks with the director and that a reunion may happen.

"We've been chatting about it," said Ford. "I truly admire Ridley as a man and as a director and I would be very happy to engage again with him in the further telling of this story."

This is a bit surprising since producer Andrew Kosove previously said that "this movie [will not] have anything to do with Harrison Ford. This is a total reinvention and in my mind that means doing everything fresh, including casting."

I don't like it a bit. Ridley scott can feel free to continue to milk the Alien franchise, but leave Blade runner alone. The story was told. He should know when to leave sh*t alone.

Ugh...

Ya know, three or four years ago the idea of Ridley Scott returning to the universe of Blade Runner would have sounded promising; the idea of him shedding the banality of his past decadeís work by returning to science fiction. But after the disappointment that was Prometheus (not terrible, just mediocre, which, in a way, was even worse) I have no desire to see him tempt fate twice with Blade Runner.

Examine closely his current filmmaking style and youíll notice itís actually changed quite a bit since 1982; dwindled, in my opinion (his editing tempo is all screwy, and heís lost so much subtlety). And its not like he can be counted on to oversee good scripts, as both Alien and Blade Runner were projects well conceived before he ever came along. And lets not even talk about the Spaihts/Lindelof debacle.

I think Scott is too old at this point, in that heís too set in his ways. At this point, a Blade Runner sequel from him would just be loud and clumsy.

*sigh*

You people.

Prometheus wasn't terrible because of Scott, it was the f*cking SCRIPT. His direction was actually quite gorgeous, and his "editing" was rather well-done and crisp.

Yeah, he should have said something about the script, but who is to say he had much input on the matter, or that he even understood what Lindelhof was trying to do?

You people are the SAME people who blame Ratner for X-MEN 3 when all he did was direct the damned thing, when that film's problems were, are largely rooted in a script and story he didn't have a hand in crafting.

As the Terminator 2 teaser says "look again!".

Forget Blade Runner...that train has passed.

If they really wanted to continue the story, they would've done it already years ago.

Just looks like a cash grab to me with whiff of desperation to touch the subject/ tap the director at this time.

Like Prometheus, it's just nostalgia....nothing more. The only reason it was seen & this will be seen is due to Scott's work (in his prime) in the past.

I really do think Tarantino is right...after awhile, the older director's talent wanes off. Guess that's why Tarantino is already planning his retirement from filming....

I guess that explains why Eastwood won an Academy for Million Dollar Baby at age 74.
