Trailer for "The Starving Games" Spoof, From Directors of "Date Movie"Submit Comment
Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer, the duo behind such spoofs as "Vampires Suck," "Date Movie," "Meet the Spartans" and "Disaster Movie," are back with "The Starving Games," a spoof of such films as "The Hunger Games," "The Avengers," "Sherlock Holmes" and the "Harry Potter" franchise.

Today we have the trailer for the new movie, which will be available on VOD and in select theaters on November 8th. Check out the trailer below.

Plot: Set in the most depressing corner of a post-apocalyptic future, our hero Kantmiss Evershot (Maiara Walsh) volunteers to take her manipulative younger sister's place in the 75th annual "Starving Games." In doing so, she must leave behind her smoldering just-a-friend Dale (Brant Daugherty) and team up with the geeky baker's son Peter Malarkey (Cody Allen Christian) in a fight for her life.

These people make the worst f*cking movies. I refused to watch Meet the Spartans and Vampires suck, But I did watch Date movie and it was awful.

I've seen scenes from the other sh*tfests they make, it's recycled fart jokes and other lame ass jokes. What happened to good spoofs? Where's Leslie Nelsen when you f*cking need him...

May that genius rest in peace.

This looks sh*ttier than the others.

Funny as cancer, just like all their other movies.

At least they don't have a studio behind them anymore, so they won't have the budget, the celebrities, or the distribution power.

NO! NO! NO!

Man, these guys are the f*cking worst.

Who keeps giving these morons money to make these movies?!? Seriously, what studio execs actually looked at 'Date Movie' and 'Meet the Spartans', and then threw money at them to go do the same crap again?

Fact: I have seen none of the Scary Movies, Epic Movies, Disaster Movies, Date Movies or Meet the Spartans.

And I won't be seeing this.

Critic Josh Levin of Slate commented that "Friedberg and Seltzer...are not filmmakers. They are evildoers, charlatans, symbols of Western civilization's decline..."

Josh Rosenblatt of the Austin Chronicle said that "Writer/directors Friedberg and Seltzer are a scourge. They’re a plague on our cinematic landscape, a national shame, a danger to our culture, a typhoon-sized natural disaster disguised as a filmmaking team, a Hollywood monster wreaking havoc on the minds of America’s youth and setting civilization back thousands of years."

Korey Coleman of Spill.com has claimed that he is "bothered" by the duo's films, as he believes they are dumbing down the film industry and popular culture in general.

@mink

I forget who said it but some critic said that anything is better than them.
A father not knowing how to work a camera, and a bear accidentally turning on a camera during a camp raid is better than them.

^^This is true, zeroguy.

A choice between mere incompetence and evil is no choice at all.
