We recently reported that Guillermo Del Toro (Pacific Rim) directed the opening sequence for "The Simpsons" Halloween episode, called "Treehouse of Horror." The episode will air on Sunday, October 6th (8-8:30pm ET) on Fox, but we now have the opening sequence. Watch it below.
The episode will feature monsters and classic characters from horror films, and contain three segments. In "Oh The Places You'll D'oh," Homer rides around Springfield wreaking havoc as "The Fat in The Hat" in a rhyming Dr. Seuss-style tale.
In "Dead and Shoulders," Bart is beheaded during a kite accident, his head is attached to Lisa's body and they must live together as one.
And "Freaks no Geeks," features Mr. Burns' traveling circus, The Burnsum and Bailey Circus, which has stopped in Springfieldland in the 1930s. Trapeze artist Marge and Strong Man Homer are performers and things go awry when circus freak Moe starts to make advances towards Marge.
Some great jokes. Phantom of the Opera, Phantom of the Opera, Phantom of the Opera, Fantomas, Phantom of the Paradise. The four authors side by side really made me miss Bradbury and Matheson, but it's nice to see them in deserved company with Poe and Lovecraft.
