Fourth "Chronicles of Narnia" Film in the Works

Posted: October 1st, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Fourth "Chronicles of Narnia" Film in the WorksSubmit Comment
The first "Chronicles of Narnia" film was released in 2005 and went on to gross $745 million worldwide on a budget of $180 million. A sequel was immediately greenlit and was in theaters less than three years later. This time, it boasted a budget of $225 million, but earned a disappointing $420 million.

Disney then decided to move forward with a third installment, but dropped the budget all the way down to $155 million. The film didn't perform any better, grossing $416 million.

With such poor results, many thought that the company would abandon the risky franchise. But now comes word that Disney is officially at work on the fourth installment, based on "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair" book.

Producer Mark Gordon feels that the fourth movie has the potential to be as successful as the first film. "Like many readers, both young and old, I am a huge fan of CS Lewis's beautiful world of Narnia," he said. "These fantasy stories inspire real-world passion among millions of devoted fans around the world. As we prepare to bring the next book to life, we are humbled and excited to contribute to the outstanding legacy of Narnia."

No thanks. Perhaps build up interest in the books first so any further film adaptations aren't squandered like Dawn Treader.

"Risky franchise" earns over 200 million profit each film. Greedy f*cks

It really sad hearing words like disappointingly or any better in relation to something earning more than $400 million. That sinks in and makes me feel ill.

I swear 20th Century Fox made the third one, Disney sold it to them, from what I remember anyway.

Diseny Didn't do the Third one Fox did, and it doesn't say for sure what studio will do this one, but "Silver Chair" is my Favorite book in the series.. I would like a faithfully adaption.. I won't count on it though.. but I can't help be get excited.

i liked mr. tomnus from the first film, and then it's like everybody was forgotten...1000 years later for the second film...really?...that's sad, and i still have yet to watch dawn treader, but here's hoping to a more magical approach like the white queen giving evan everything he wants when she drops stuff in the snow and makes awesome gourmet desserts and drinks lol...if you want to bring more life to this franchise, you gotta have more fun with it fantasy of it
