Chris Hemsworth Says DC Films are No Competition for Marvel

Chris Hemsworth Says DC Films are No Competition for MarvelSubmit Comment
While promoting his upcoming "Rush" movie, "Thor" star Chris Hemsworth was asked for his thought on the rivalry between Marvel and DC, especially after the success of "The Dark Knight" trilogy and "Man of Steel."

"We're just winning aren't we? That's not really a rivalry," Hemsworth replied.

There are obviously many ways of looking at this. DC's "Green Lantern" and "Superman Returns" underperformed, while Marvel has consistently made money with such films as "Iron Man," "Thor," "Captain America" and "The Avengers." In fact, "Iron Man 3" and "The Avengers" are in the top five highest-grossing films of all time.

But then there's DC's "The Dark Knight" trilogy, in which the last two installments cracked the $1 billion mark. And even though "Man of Steel" didn't perform as well as expected, it still beat "Captain America" and "Thor" in box office revenue. And with DC working on "Batman vs Superman" and "Justice League," only time will tell whether DC or Marvel will come out on top.

Hey dude is right. DC can't get their sh*t together and are trying so hard to copy Marvel. They are intimidated by Marvel's planning and success. Not to mention Warner Bros. takes forever to make a movie. Like really Marvel has multiple movies filming that diversify while DC is struggling to get just Batman vs. Superman done. Sorry but Hemsworth is right. DC has a couple successful films under it's belt whereas Marvel has a couple films out each year to get attention from. Not to mention, Marvel has Disney as a backer. That's like having a country's wealth behind you. LOL

Not to mention, as this article points, only two of the Dark Knight films has cracked $1 billion. But so has Marvel. They have Avengers and Iron Man 3 PLUS the success of the other films. And Marvel is only building an audience. DC isn't being consistent enough to catch up.

Iron Man 1 was alright, the rest(Avengers included) were 3 star films at best.I still think Blade is the best Marvel film but it still pales in comparison to Superman the movie and thats 40 years old.
Making them isn't winning.

Regards.

Impartial film fan.

DC basically has 4 decent movies in the last 10 years. Marvel, although box office big hits, hasn't made great movies, way way way overrated, except first class, that was good.Avengers, fun? Sure. Well made script? Kinda. The good DC movies seem more "real" and well made. Most of the marvel movies are blah blah *corny joke* pew pew blah end, no heart. Tired of everyone on marvels d*ck, they are gonna burn out the genre with sh*tty movies, which sucks for the real fans. Whedon ain't saving anything

Well, considering the number of films that Marvel has made it's now wonder that they are slightly better performing. But let's consider this: DC has bullsh*t films like Batman & Robin, Superman 3,4 and Returns, Jonah Hex, Catwoman, Steel, Green Lantern (8 films), Marvel has Fantastic FourX2, Daredevil, Elektra, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, Ghost RiderX2, X-Men 3, Howard the Duck, Blade 3, and I can't remember anymore, but that's 10 films. So basically what Marvel is doing is:''Let's just throw out a bunch of movies and with that amount we will probably get something right'', while DC is more:''Guys, let's not rush it, let's try to make a quality movie without making it second Catwoman.''
