Jason Statham Almost Died on "The Expendables 3" Set

Jason Statham Almost Died on "The Expendables 3" SetSubmit Comment
"The Expendables" movies have plenty of action sequences, which require dangerous stunts. During the making of the second film, one stuntman died and another was injured. And now that "The Expendables 3" is shooting in Bulgaria, another accident is being reported, this time involving Jason Statham.

During a visit to "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," Terry Crews recounted a near-death experience that took place during a scene in which Statham was driving a truck. "He is supposed to stop the truck, we get out, we shoot," the actor explained. "The truck doesn't stop. The truck goes over the dock, into the Black Sea with Jason Statham driving."

Crews went on to say that everybody just froze as Statham and the vehicle disappeared under the water. The cast and the filmmakers were "freaking out" and "screaming," but luckily Statham was able to get out of the truck and swim out unscathed. The truck, however, continued to sink all the way to the bottom of the sea.

"Let me tell you something, Jason Statham is a true bad, bad dude," said Crews.

That's the best publicity he ever had.

I like how he said everyone was freaking out. Nothing on people trying to save Jason, just freaking out. I can see them all running around yelling "What do we do?!" and other cliche things. Stathom comes out of the water and is all "No, I got this guys. Thanks for all the awesome help, ya' Nancys." All those guys sound like a lot of help.

Polluting the Black Sea in the name of 2nd-rate entertainment. Yep, that's Hollywood.

I hope they saved that take.

I hope they rescued the truck.

Who cares he's a boring action star anyways.
Stapes writes:

Wasnt Statham a pro swimmer/diver or something before he became an "actor."
M. Bullitt writes:

^ ^ Yes he was a diver. He finished 12th in the WC.

Yes crambo, obviously those would be the type of headlines we would see…
velocityknown writes:

@Crambo

Actually, the headline on this site would be

Did Jason Statham Die on the Set of The Expendables 3?

The article that follows would have an opening paragraph something along the lines of:

"We all know that Jason Statam is an actor who has appeared in many movies such as The Trainsporter and The Pink Panther. But now we have news that has sadly passed away at the age of XX."

Closing paragraph would be:

"Many famous people have expressed their condolences over Statham's passing. We have yet to hear what President Obama thinks of the situation. Stay tuned."
Deaft0ne writes:

lol@phrasing his death as a question. Alex always does that sh*t.
Deaft0ne writes:

@velocityknown

Lol are the mistakes in the first paragraph on purpose to show alex's tardery and lack of proofreading?

President Obama announces new executive orders to prevent actors from performing their own stunts in films due to the death of Jason Statham.

"Professional stunt performers are expendable, but famous actors like Jason Statham are not. I hope these executive orders will prevent future deaths of actors on film sets. Thank you." - President Obama

Stapes writes:

You're forgetting the part where Obama would call Statham a patriot.
minkowski writes:

"The truck, however, continued to sink all the way to the bottom of the sea."

Really? And here I was thinking Statham, no mere mortal, had the power to nullify gravity.
minkowski writes:

""Let me tell you something, Jason Statham is a true bad, bad dude," said Crews."

Yes, yes, perhaps, but easily fleeing a sinking truck isn't the act that makes it so.
minkowski writes:

"but luckily Statham was able to get out of the truck and swim out unscathed."

Because opening the door to equalize pressure and then letting buoyancy carry you up is all about luck, and not physics.

Idiot.

Big deal. Mark Twain had no college education. Neither did Abraham Lincoln. Most of the so-called "robber barons" didn't even graduate from high school. Bill Gates dropped out of college as well.

Education != financial success, although the unis would love nothing more than for everyone to believe they're an assembly line of super-wealthy citizens.

Heh. Wait till automation and robotics eliminates most existing jobs.
