Kevin Tancharoen Says "Mortal Kombat" Movie is Moving Forward

Kevin Tancharoen Says "Mortal Kombat" Movie is Moving ForwardSubmit Comment
Kevin Tancharoen (Fame) started out looking to convince Warner Bros to let him direct a "Mortal Kombat" movie. He put together a short video, showing what it would be like to have the characters in a movie again.

The studio saw that video and decided to let Tancharoen direct a "Mortal Kombat" web series, called "Mortal Kombat: Legacy," which turned out to be a massive hit. A second season was quickly greenlit, and along with it, the helmer was given his wish of directing a "Mortal Kombat" movie.

The second season is set to premiere next week, but we have yet to hear anything about the movie. "We're still pushing through on that," Tancharoen told ComingSoon earlier today. "The script is in a good place, we're just figuring out the budget and locations and that whole process is where we're at."

When asked if the story from the web series would carry over to the movie, he replied: "I think everyone's intention is to start fresh. We're going to take the mythology and add another layer on it so it can live on for another 20 years."

Why? Dear god, why? The video games are utter sh*t. The movies are absolutely sh*t. The web series is sh*t. Let this trash mercifully die like it should have done twenty years ago.

Loved the games and actually liked the first movie and the web series. Now, onto a movie version of the best arcade fighting game ever made: Clay Fighter.
