Ian McKellen is Retired Sherlock Holmes in "A Slight Trick of the Mind"Posted: September 5th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
AI Film has announced that it's financing and co-producing "A Slight Trick of the Mind," which will be directed by Oscar-winner Bill Condon (Dreamgirls, Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn) and star Ian McKellen (The Hobbit, X-Men) as retired Sherlock Holmes.
Plot: In 1947, Sherlock Holmes, long retired, lives in a sleepy Sussex village with his housekeeper and her amateur-sleuthing son. But far from living out a peaceful retirement, he is haunted by an unsolved case from fifty years ago. He remembers only fragments: a confrontation with an angry husband, a secret bond with his beautiful but unstable wife.
With his legendary mental powers on the wane, and without his old sidekick Watson, Holmes is faced with the toughest case of his life – a case that might finally reveal to him the mysteries of the human heart.
The film is based on a novel Mitch Cullin.

Patrick Stewart as Dr. Watson, huh? Well you know what, I like that idea (provided that Watson is still alive in this movie, although I have a feeling he's already dead). McKellan and Stewart have good chemistry together and they're both fine actors.
Although I gotta say that if I were to cast McKellan and Stewart in a Holmes film, my first instinct would be to cast Stewart as Holmes and McKellan as Watson. But either way they could pull it off.

Stewart as Holmes would be awesome or an entire series wherein Data plays Holmes would be even better.

What about stewert as moriarty??? Story says watson is dead and its a 50 year old case that comes back to haunt holmes and bring him out of retirement.
make it one last chess match between them. That would be awesome. And just for sh*ts make brent spiner holmes jr.
