First Look at Disney's Secretive "Tomorrowland" Sci-Fi Film, Starring George Clooney

Posted: September 5th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
First Look at DisneySubmit Comment
One of the most secretive films currently in production is Disney's "Tomorrowland" sci-fi movie, which stars George Clooney, directed by Brad Bird (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol, The Incredibles) and written by Damon Lindelof (Prometheus).

Today, we have the first photos from the Vancouver set, showing Disney's "It's A Small World" ride from the 1964 World’s Fair, as well as shots of Hugh Laurie and costumed characters from "Alice in Wonderland" and the "Three Little Pigs." Check everything out below.

Here is the film's cryptic plot synopsis: Bound by a shared destiny, a bright, optimistic teen bursting with scientific curiosity and a former boy-genius inventor jaded by disillusionment embark on a danger-filled mission to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory.

"Tomorrowland" is set to hit theaters on December 12th, 2014.

I'm interested in this. Brad Bird could excel in his sophomore live-action effort, and Lindelof has a chance to redeem himself for his recent big screen woes.

Bird? Yes.
Laurie? Yes
Premise? Sure.
Clooney? No.
Lindelof? f*ck no.

Lindelof should adopt a pseudonim, like Christian Shepard or some sh*t like. Probably loose those glases. And get a wig.

"to unearth the secrets of an enigmatic place somewhere in time and space that exists in their collective memory."

I somehow doubt that they'll make this half as interesting as it sounds. It probably took them longer to write this synopsis than it did to write the entire script.

All I know is Brad Bird made "The Incedibles" which is my favorite Pixar movie and he made the best Mission: Impossible in my opinion. So am I excited yes? Very much. Can he do it? We'll see but I feel like he is one of those directors who will have a streak of good films like Spielberg. He seems to have a real passion for filmmaking and a lot of creativity invested in the films he does. So let's see what he can do.

Brad Bird also directed The Iron Giant, Ratatouille and was a creative consultant on The Simpsons in its glory years.

I believe in this film.

It's a Disney live-action movie. Chances are, it'll suck. That it's written by Lindelhof is an even better bet it'll suck.

At Velocityknown

I wonder Bird would actually be considered the director for Rataouille? He did not actually develop this project...Bird picked up the pieces and did what he could with what he had when the original helmer got let go.
