Marvel just unveiled the first TV spot for "Thor: The Dark World," starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, and Christopher Eccleston. Check it out below.

Plot: The sequel takes place in the aftermath of "Thor" and "The Avengers," following Thor (Hemsworth) as he fights to restore order across the cosmos when an ancient race, led by the vengeful Malekith (Eccleston), returns to plunge the universe back into darkness. Faced with an enemy that even Odin (Hopkins) and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster (Portman) and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all.

The new movie is directed by Alan Taylor ("Game of Thrones") and is set to hit theaters on November 8th.

PB has the pootang no doubt. Lots and lots of beautiful women, although it doesn't look like Baywatch. I think that's Long Beach or some sh*t. Most of them have dudes anyway, so your chance of picking up one is about zero. Oh well.

minkowski writes:

Ii think I've earned the anger.

Besides, if people get upset with what they read from a total anonymous stranger on a movie website, they have more problems than just me.

Trying to think of a movie I watched recently. Something good. Nope. Can't think of anything.

Tried watching Star Trek into Darkness again. Terrible, terrible writing. Basically nothing more than a hollow showcase of beautiful CGI and annoying lens flares, like when Alice Eve shows up for one pointless shot, clothed, and there's this massive blue flare which hides her face and body for about 75% of the shot. Lots of terrible writing too, like when Sulu goes badass and McCoy says something like "Remind me to never piss you off". Just had to laugh. Makes Wrath of Khan look like a Broadway rendition of Hamlet. Hope they don't make any more.
minkowski writes:
on August 30th, 2013 at 4:44:48 PM

The yelling was so forced. You could tell he was doing it against his inner will. Probably wanted to smoke Kirk's pole instead. And Uhura pining for gay Spock made me sick, which was an inversion of the original character's personality, which was supposed to represent women's new found sense of strength and independence. Instead, she can't take a dump without Spock.

And Weller was totally wasted. Should have been him instead of Sherlock for the film's villain.

Remind me again why Eve has a heavy British accent but her father is very much American?
minkowski writes:
on August 30th, 2013 at 4:52:00 PM

minkowski writes:

Regarding Getaway

The only participant to emerge with its reputation intact--though not its paint job--is the Shelby Mustang muscle car, which also delivers the film's most nuanced and psychologically complex performance.

lol.
Deaft0ne writes:

I am not mad at you because I have no reason to be. I feel sorry for whoever did create the fake profile of me because it's pointless and sad. Bandoleper is the only person on here that actually despises me but the fake Deaft0ne typed like they at least finished the 8th grade so bando is ruled out.

Whoever it was can just tell me if they have an issue with me. Hiding behind a fake profile of me is the absolute worst way to address that.
minkowski writes:
on August 30th, 2013 at 4:58:14 PM

@Rambo: regarding Star Trek 3...probably. I bet you're right. I bet they have more Klingons and The Borg reimagined. There's nothing good left for them to steal. They already rehashed the best Trek movie. And the plots of 1, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are far too subtle and humanistic for the kind of inbred Bayified audiences who love lens flares, explosions, pointless semi-nudity and sickening love triangles. Now that I think about it...Star Trek 2 is a lot like Bay's Pearl Harbor in space.

This is an interesting article about how Paramount is f*cking fans over on the special features for STID for people that would want to get the Blu-Ray:

minkowski writes:

@Deaft0ne: I think you over-reacted. Whoever cloned your account wasn't trying to hurt you. If they had been, and if it was me, I, and they, would have likely immediately started attacking other members and making extremely self-destructive homosexual remarks. That person didn't do that. Instead. they just pretended to be you in a very laconic way. If anything, you should have been flattered since there didn't seem to be any malice involved.
minkowski writes:
on August 30th, 2013 at 5:04:38 PM

I say "if it was me" with the assumption I was out to cause deliberate harm. Entirely hypothetical and in line with Deaft0ne's fears.
minkowski writes:
on August 30th, 2013 at 5:11:09 PM

@Deaft0ne: that article writer is whiner, not because he doesn't a legitimate gripe, but because studios have been pulling that sh*t since day one, starting with DVDs.

Can't tell you how many times the studio released a barebones DVD for a much-desired film, only for them to eke out the special features over the next five releases of the DVD. Director's Cut. Special Edition. Anniversary Edition. Definitive Edition. Director's Special Definitive Anniversary Cut with Kitchen Sink.

Only difference now is they've found new ways to milk people, like VOD, retailer editions and iTunes. And all for Star Trek 2. Not even a historically good movie. Nothing special. Didn't even break any BO records. And people are falling for it already.

Deaft0ne writes:

@mink

I think that the reason why this particular instance is an issue is because the itunes dl of STID has an exclusive director's commentary with JJ Abrams. I don't recall this occurring beforehand. I know someone in my family will end up getting me STID for XMAS because at my age now I don't really ask for anything but i'd be curious about the commentary to hear JJ explain why the movie was so retarded.

I'd expect the commentary to just be a no-brainer inclusion on the Blu-Ray and featurettes about Alice Eve's panty-stank to be sh*t exclusive to itunes.

looks like someone is creating bullsh*t accounts to keep us talking about the topic at hand, like anyone REALLY gives two flying f*cks about Thor 2. Maybe children.

@Deaft0ne: I agree, but with corporations these days doing all they can to milk you out of every dime you make working for them, it doesn't surprise me in the least they would want to push the paradigm as far as they can. But you're right: a f*cking audio commentary and some trailers and perhaps a Making Of...is the very least they can do when you spend thirty bucks for their product.

Guess they feel you're already getting the ability to watch the movie on your iPod (yay!) with the Digital Copy, you shouldn't ask for anything more...

But then again, the Riddler shouldn't be the villain in the Batman/Superman movie anyway. The Riddler isn't a formidable enough foe for Superman because Superman could rip off Riddler's head with super strength or make Riddler's head explode with the heat vision ray.

Unless there was a twist that the Riddler's costume is green because it's actually made out of Kryptonite fabric. That would be neat.

You should see that Simon Killer movie, guys, the only thing I can say about it is how this guys making that film played with certain topics.

Recently saw Avatar and I´m about to finish watching the Avengers. Then I´ll see Jane Campion´s Top of the Lake.

And then, a trilogy marathon starting with the unaltered version of Star Wars (IV,V,VI), then Mad Max and ending with the Matrix Trilogy.

Then I was thinking to read some books, but, then again, I will have internet or a computer no more as far as I know.

Yeah, saw Star Trek Into Darkness, I enjoyed it, and I was wandering how much they infact borrowed from the Original Khan Movie.

It feels like, they raping the f*ck out of the collective creativity.

It's all about money, not creativity. Money, money, money. Making new franchises. Rebooting, remaking, rehashing. Indiana Jones 5, Die hard 5, Jurassic Park 4. Pirates of the Caribbean 5, or 6, or whatever.

Used to be sequelitis was a slasher film affliction. Nightmare on Elm Street 9. Jason Goes to Uranus. Micheal Meyers: The Potty Training Video.

Now it's not just a feature of mainstream film, but the actual stated GOAL of every Hollywood studio.

@Pornfly: those chemistry sets were cool. You can't even get one now. Even then, back in da 80s, almost every "dangerous" chemical was removed. Some boron, some bromide, nothing that might burn or boil or tingle. The sets back in the 50s though had everything. Back then you could build your own damned rocket and launch it. Now, doing so gets the FAA up your ass. Buying a chemistry set, if you can find one, gets you a visit from Homeland Security.

Best play with the plastic blocks and be glad you have them.

Yeah Trent did the scores for the social network and dragon tat with Atticus Ross and originally Came Back Haunted and In Two were going to be the only 2 new tracks on a NIN greatest hits release.

Initially this was all he wanted to do because he is 48 now and married with 2 babies but his wife, Mariqueen Maandig and Atticus Ross and others encouraged him to see if a new album can come together.

So ten more songs were written and recorded and hesitation marks was born, the first new NIN album in 5 years since The Slip.

An at least year long tour will follow and it might be the last one so I will try to go and it'll be my third time going.

Joss Whedon Is Right About 'Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom'

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/mike-ryan/joss-whedon-avengers-age-of-ultron_b_3824193.html

Sorry I missed that article and its comments, but then we're talking about Whedon, who thinks he's now a cinematic god, so much so that he can now merrily nitpick the masters and comment wholly on the entirety of modern cinema, so much that he thinks HIS films are somehow "better" than all the other crap coming out these days.

Right. This coming from the guy who made that sh*tty and forgettable Avengers and that idiotic Cabin in the Woods.

What a monstrously arrogant f*ck.

Interesting. I would have figured the 8th grade writing style would have pointed to no one other than Bando. But it's always good to have faith in people.

Yes, we all know the no-gun scene TOD is a joke on the Raiders scene, even though the former is an ironic riff on the latter, even though TOD is a prequel end even though Spielberg was having fun breaking the fourth wall, the notion Whedon thinks THAT MOMENT is the moment film started going to sh*t instead of when he and Marvel started mass producing comic book trash, is to me more than a little dishonest, and probably an outright case of projection.

Never mind the fact Whedon thinks he's now good enough or accomplished enough to critique Spielberg and Lucas, or he thinks his films are somehow superior to all the other trash we've seen in the last ten years.

Dunno. My mind is still spinning from Whedon's arrogance, from his pretentious attitude and his belief he now can criticize yesteryear's more beloved films.
