Kevin Feige Reveals Main Villain in "Guardians of the Galaxy," Plus First Look at Michael Rooker as YonduSubmit Comment
Empire magazine had a chance to speak to Marvel head Kevin Feige, asking him several questions about "Guardians of the Galaxy," including who the main villain will be. The interview started with whether the film takes place at the same time as the other Phase Two films like "Iron Man 3," "Thor 2" and "Captain America 2."

"The general answer is yes. It's not exactly revealed what year or month it is in relation to the other Phase Two films. But yes, it's the same time," he said, adding that there's a major connection to the other films. "We've already said that Thanos plays a part in it and is a character in it. That should tell you it's connected to the other worlds."

While Thanos is in the movie, Feige went on to say that he will not be the main villain. "Ronan The Accuser is very much the main bad guy. And Thanos is lurking above it all," he explained. "You will learn more about Thanos in 'Guardians,' for sure. Certainly you'll get more than the one turn around and smirk. You'll get much more than that."

Meanwhile, we have new photos from the set of "Guardians of the Galaxy," showing that a spaceship crashed in a field and walking among the wreckage is Yondu (Michael Rooker), a blue alien and founding member of the superhero team. Director James Gunn is also in the photos. Check everything out below.

Remember when Rooker and Cruise raced each other in wheelchairs in Days of Thunder?

Yeah, that was rad.

Why are they trying to cram all of Space Marvel that isn't owned by FOX into one movie...

@Tanman
Rooker was kicking ass in films at least since "Tombstone" back in the 90's. At least that was the first time I saw him. This guy is a damn hard worker. Glad to see him back on the big screen. I just hope his fate in this movie is better than it was in Tombstone. LOL

Rooker's the guy who had all those atrocious roles appearing next to van Damme in many of that man's worst titles, right?

@mink
Mink this is still, supposedly, a film site. Therefore discussing Van Damme movies, in general, does not fall under talking about film. LOL

I can't wait for this...everything about this movie is so eclectic and eccentric. It's all over the place in a way that works. James Gunn directing, Chris Pratt as a super-smart-ass hero, Zoe Saldana playing another bad-ass alien chick, a tree-alien voiced by Vin Diesel, Dave Bautista as a shredded, bad-ass alien, a raccoon that talks and shoots machine guns, John C Reilly as some kind of space-cop. It's so absurdly awesome that it just might be, like, the best thing ever.

I hate when people act and speak ridiculously positive for sh*t they haven't seen, just so they can be deliberately contrarian to the more cautious majority. It's a kind of desperate trolling you just don't often see. Sad.

@mink
It's hope man. Hoping this film will rock the galaxy. Plus, not a lot of major outer space science fiction films so it is very different from people are used to. Seriously besides Star Wars what huge space operas have you seen?

@Mink

How does speaking positively and enthusiastically constitute trolling?

What you just posted - is that not a shifty way of trolling in and of itself?

I am willing to give GOTG a chance because Slither and Super are good movies and James Gunn is a unique filmmaker. Marvel appears to be letting him make the film his way, with his vision.

Again, I read an article on Ain't It Cool News that said the production design for the film is very creative and a lot of puppets and practical effects are being used whenever possible.

He said that this movie is definitely a space western akin to the first Star Wars. It is being influenced by it in the tone and the humor but is not copying it.

Anyways, GOTG seems to be the only different Phase 2 film because IM3, T:TDW, and CA:TWS seem maudlin by comparison.

@Cannon: you and all the other people on this website need to learn the actual definition of troll and trolling and stop using the damned word just because I began using it, which is true: before I began employing the word, not one person on this idiotic website used the term. As soon as I started saying "troll", every Tom d*ck and Harry started saying it as well.

As for your actual question: no. Calling someone out on their transparently trolling behavior isn't trolling, and obviously Chris_G is speaking in a ridiculously false positive manner (as he has on several other articles) in order to get an emotional reaction from people. That IS trolling.

You people might try understanding a word before using it just because someone else used it. You know, like "trope", too. And "thread", which I used incorrectly on purpose, and to this day everyone else uses it incorrectly too.
