"Oblivion" Director to Helm "The Twilight Zone" Movie

"Oblivion" Director to Helm "The Twilight Zone" MovieSubmit Comment
At one point director Matt Reeves (Cloverfield, Let Me In) was set to direct a new "Twilight Zone" movie, but eventually dropped out to helm "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes."

The Wrap has now learned that Joseph Koskinski (Oblivion, Tron Legacy) has stepped in to replace Reeves. Leonardo DiCaprio and his Appian Way production company are still on board to produce.

The plan has been to combine several episodes into one storyline. Now that Kosinski is on board, "The Twilight Zone" will be re-worked to fit his strengths and ideas.

Do The Time Element, the first TZ episode, and the last one. Boom.

Great. Another CGI spectacle with a weak story.

Twilight Zone is one of the greatest sci-fi show of all time. Kosinski better not f*ck that up.

I have a feeling this will be done with minimal cgi, proly on par with the amount in something like the Aviator or something.like that. Will be sections of the movie that require its use but only used when needed.

With leo producing he will want something more realistic in look, instead of cgi heavy I would think. Especially if he decides to star as well. If he does I can see this maybe even becoming somewhat of a period piece even.

then again leo could decide to break his cycle and go all out cgi fest. Who knows

As much as I love The Twilight Zone and would love another movie version, I really hope they dont f*ck this up. I'm sure the first thing the studio told him was that it must be in f*cking 3D.

Can someone shut this fag up? Is he on his period again? Whining about every single article.

Seriously, Minkowski is a bitchy little f*ck who talks sh*t about everything that comes down the line. That f*ck needs to get a life, go outside and learn to be a grown up.

They're different people, but they all "think" alike, i.e., lurk and then bitch when things don't go their way like the sh*tty relative who brings nothing to Thanksgiving dinner but who feels the need to say everything tastes like sh*t.

In other words, a c*nty stepmother.

Or they're drive-by trollers.

@rambo. This seems like a lower risk oppourtunity for kosinski to try his hand at traditional film making. He does not always have to make cgi fests.

Speilberg has made alot of special effects extravaganzas in his time but still makes the simpler ones as well.

Kosinski has shown he can direct fast paced sci fi. Im interested to see what he can do with a slower paced classic scibfi like this

Again I could be wrong and this could turn into some fast paced crazy cgi fest movie. But I think leo is somewhat savy enough to understand his material and trust the right people to make it right.

the hiring of kosinski just seems like a smart move. He is a young, smart, inexpensive up and coming director with a so far proven track record for delivering movies in time and on or under budget andnhaving them connect with audiences and being profitable.

he also has a track record of taking an existing property and adapting it for a modern audience while being respectful to where it came from. Making fans old and new happy. And thats exactly what you want with bringing back twilight zone dont you think?

Sounds smart to me
