"Beverly Hills Cop 4" Signs Eddie Murphy and "Mission: Impossible" Writers

"Beverly Hills Cop 4" Signs Eddie Murphy and "Mission: Impossible" WritersSubmit Comment
Several years ago, Paramount Pictures and Eddie Murphy were eager to make a fourth "Beverly Hills Cop" movie, but surprisingly decided to make a "Beverly Hills Cop" TV series instead. After completing the pilot episode, several networks fought to acquire the series, with CBS eventually winning the bidding war.

But soon after we learned that CBS was the winner, CBS announced that it's no longer interested in the TV series. Paramount attempted to shop it around again, but failed to bring another network on board.

Then just recently, executive producer Shawn Ryan revealed that Paramount has once again decided to move forward with a "Beverly Hills Cop 4" movie. And now, Deadline has confirmed that the studio already signed Murphy to reprise his role, and has brought on Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec (Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol) to write the script.

Getting this heap of sh*t out of the bowels of development hell IS mission impossible, but if they somehow do, the making of the movie should be the actual movie.

Tom Cruise as Eddie Murphy.

With this, Ghostbusters 3, Tron 2 and a few other films, sh*t-mart should have a plastic bin set aside just for sh*t sequels to films made before most people were born.

Well now. The writers are rock solid. And if eddie returns to his rated r foley form this could be gold. Now they need a good director. f*ck not better be thinking ratner eddie or ill f*ckin cut you.

I say wait for director and story synopsis before getting interested. Hopefull when it actually starts filming. And excited if the trailer actually shows m3 something worthwhile

Ronny Cox's character is now in a rest home, and Axel Foley must discover who is stealing money out of his sock drawer.

They'll probably just retread the TV version into part 4. Foley will introduce his son, you know, the one nobody wanted to see. Murphy looks like he really wants to pass the torch, I guess...
