Universal Pictures Removes Assault Rifles From "Kick-Ass 2" Photo

Universal Pictures Removes Assault Rifles From "Kick-Ass 2" PhotoSubmit Comment
Last month, Jim Carrey posted a message on his Twitter account, denouncing the violence in his "Kick-Ass 2" film, saying that he can't support the movie in light of the Sandy Hook shooting.

Mark Millar, the created of the "Kick-Ass" comic book, quickly responded, stating that Carrey read the script for "Kick Ass 2" and knew about the violence before the school shooting, adding that he doesn't see a connection between film violence and real-life violence.

Universal Pictures seemingly agreed when the studio called the sequel "irreverent, dark and often offensive" at CineEurope. But that doesn't not the case, because Universal just posted a new photo from the movie on a publicity site (image.net), giving us a look at Hit-Girl (Chloe Moretz) training with Kick-Ass (Aaron Johnson).

It turns out that the photo is not new. In fact, a similar photo has been released on the publicity site earlier with the only difference being that the old photo featured two assault-style weapons in the background. Did Universal remove the weapons? The studio has yet to comment on the change.

Meanwhile, Carrey decided to comment on the recent vandalizing of the Lincoln memorial, which was closed for a day after unknown individuals threw green paint on it. "Green paint on Lincoln memorial. [People] are getting tired of corporate tyranny disguised as democracy," wrote the actor.

Next they will digitally remove all weapons from the movie itself and replace those with flashlights ..

Based on his pose they could have replaced it with an awesome guitar.

Movies and video games cause violence.

The Crusades and the Peloponnesian War are a few examples.

Realistically, what's the point in removing the assault rifles? Is it really going to change someone's mind about the movie?

I guess 4 people will now see the movie, instead of 2.

This movie is gonna suck, yo.
That Guy writes:

Well you know, that stands to reason cuz
these commercials are gonna be on the major
networks and the major networks don't want
the guns and the violent implications to
scare away advertisers and what not

Hey on a side note, here's a good place you
might wanna try out if you got a hankering for
a cheeseburger and maybe some french fries to
go with it

http://www.mcdonalds.com

They got this special double decker
burger with two beef patties and
a tangy sauce, it's pretty good.
Also, for the kids, they got a little
meal inside a box that comes with a
toy and sometimes the toy is from a
movie. It's pretty neat.

Anyway, maybe this Kick-Ass 2 movie is
gonna be a comeback for Jim Carrey.

I would rather they remove Chloe Moretz' clothes.

Are assault rifles called assault rifles cos theres defense rifles?
TonyWalnuts writes:

It took a very long time to notice where the guns were. I think this picture will solve the problem of gun crime all by itself. AMAZING

All of this because of Jim f*cking Carrey the p*ssy who hate violence but do a movie where everybody is getting killed by a 14yo girl, poor fella, he shouldve done Mr. Popper's Penguins 2 instead
minkowski writes:

Now if only someone would scrub Kick Ass 2 from reality.

"But that doesn't not the case"

What, retard?

Rambo writes:

barely remember the first one - after all the hype it was just a mediocre mumbo jumbo...and this post is obviously a poor hidden advertise for this fiasco.
BadChadB33 writes:

Aww Universal, does your vagina hurt too???
minkowski writes:

IIRC, I labeled the first Kick Ass "nihilistic trash", as opposed to the deep, dark parody of comic books it tried to be, originally.
minkowski writes:
on July 28th, 2013 at 4:25:55 PM

Millar did the same thing with Nemesis, too. Couldn't even finish that one. Big ugly Batman parody.
Deaft0ne writes:

Well I saw The Wolverine earlier, I enjoyed it and it is a much better film than Origins. The bullet train sequence, as others have said is the definite high point of the movie.

I liked Logan's sidekick, she was very cute but tough as nails and stole a lot of her scenes with Jackman.

The only problem I had was with the weird reptilian snake chick, she was way too cartoonish and seemed like she belonged in a different movie.

The fight at the end with Silver Samurai was a tad peculiar and seemed rushed to me, there was never a clear explanation on what he was exactly.

The post-credits scene was neat and actually teases DOFP quite nicely.

7/10 from me.
