John Williams Confirmed for "Star Wars: Episode VII"Submit Comment
It was recently reported that JJ Abrams was planning to drop out of directing "Star Wars: Episode VII" and return to complete the "Star Trek" trilogy. Disney quickly denied the rumor. The studio also just denied another rumor, about how Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron have had meetings about joining the cast of "Star Wars: Episode VII."

As with any big franchise film, we can expect plenty more false stories. But Disney is now happy to confirm that legendary composer John Williams, who created the music for all "Star Wars" film, will return for "Star Wars: Episode VII."

Williams, whose career spans over six decades, has won five Academy Awards and has scored some of the most popular and critically-acclaimed films of all time, including "Jaws," "Indiana Jones," "E.T. The Extra Terrestrial," "Lincoln," and countless others.

I've loved most of Williams work but his work the past 20 years has really declined. But on the bright side, at least it's not hans zimmer. No offense, but zimmer is everywhere these days.

I disagree, Boogiel. JURASSIC PARK, SCHINDLER'S LIST, MINORITY REPORT "Duel of the Fates" from the prequel trilogy, just to name a few.

Deck- Not that amazing. lol

How old is this guy? Sure, SW isn't SW if the music isn't there... but isn't this guy going to croak halfway through this next trilogy? He's rivaling Alec Guinness in his ancientness. Find somebody new out there to cowrite the stuff with- otherwise the films are already set to croak themselves.

This was pretty much expected, and if John Williams goes out scoring this new Star Wars trilogy, that's not too shabby.

It wouldn't be Star Wars without John Williams!

I'm guessing he will be the best part of these films!
