Three Banners for "Gravity" Space Thriller, with George Clooney and Sandra BullockPosted: July 26th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Warner Bros has unveiled three new banners for the upcoming "Gravity" sci-fi thriller, starring George Clooney and Sandra Bullock. Check it out below.
Plot: Dr. Ryan Stone (Bullock) is a brilliant medical engineer on her first shuttle mission, with veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky (Clooney) in command of his last flight before retiring. But on a seemingly routine spacewalk, disaster strikes. The shuttle is destroyed, leaving Stone and Kowalsky completely alone -- tethered to nothing but each other and spiraling out into the blackness. The deafening silence tells them they have lost any link to Earth... and any chance for rescue. As fear turns to panic, every gulp of air eats away at what little oxygen is left. But the only way home may be to go further out into the terrifying expanse of space.
The new movie is directed by Alfonso Cuaron (Children of Men, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban) and set to hit 3D, IMAX and conventional theaters on October 4th.

If they got rid of that God awful trailer and just went with these posters and a teaser trailer.
This movie could have broken even
You folks who liked the Detached trailer apparently saw it on a small screen
That movie has more cgi than those Star In Your Own Adventure videos from the mall

I don't care if it has CGI or not I'll still be watching it because I want to know how they're gonna make it.
And I doubt that they'll die at the end so I'm hoping for a good suspense.

Can someone imagine a True Lies 2 with Jamie Lee Curtis?

@pornfly: God awful trailer? Why, just because there is sound when the shuttle explodes in space. Like we've never seen (heard) that before in a movie? If that's your beef with the trailer then you must have never enjoyed Star Wars, Star Trek, or 99% of all other films based in space. IMO there are more thrills in that 2 min trailer than I've seen in most of the films that have been released this entire year.
Not trying to diss, just want a little clarity on why YOU thought this trailer was so bad.

The trailer is god-f*cking-awful because it's quite obvious full-blown, full-retard f*cking CGI. Even the face behind the suit appears to have originated from a video game.
Not even a single practical effect in the entire sequence. Every shot, and there's like maybe two, came straight out of a computer.
No, really, maybe it's just one very long ugly shot with sh*t flying around wildly (remind you another movie?), because in space, when an object is no longer tethered, it goes bouncing off into the void like Wile E. Coyote on a maliciously careening AMCE rocket.
"because I want to know how they're gonna make it."
They don't make it, because it reality, that's what would happen.
A typical NASA spacesuit has about maybe eight hours of oxygen, thus there's not enough time to get another craft up there to save them, and they can't f*cking parachute to earth, and they can't waltz over to the ISS and ask to borrow a cup of sugar, either, so the logical conclusion is they totally f*cking die.
Then again, this is the moron who made an extremely long, boring movie about everyone magically becoming infertile, only for the entire world to be saved by a black Madonna, so don't expect much science with your fiction.
Ah yes, but Cauron did have that cool long shot, didn't he?
Zzzzzzzzz.

I'm still going to watch it Mink.
It's a movie so everything is possible.
You're right about Children of Men though, I never understood the hype about that insipid story.

f*ck Children of Men. One of the most overrated pieces of pretentious detritus ever put to film. I have no idea why it was so critically lauded.
