The Weinstein Company has unveiled the full trailer for "Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom," giving us a look at Idris Elba (Prometheus, Pacific Rim) as South African leader Nelson Mandela. Check it out below.
The story is based on Mandela's autobiography of the same name and follows the leader's journey from the small rural village where he spent his childhood, to his inauguration as the first democratically elected president of South Africa.
The new movie directed by Justin Chadwick (The Other Boelyn Girl) from a script by William Nicholson (Elizabeth: The Golden Age). It's set to hit theaters on November 29th, in limited release.
In his defense, he was an incredible human being, who facilitated a largely peaceful transition with emphasis on peace & reconciliation... But you're ultimately right, as in his wake he left the door open for the most contemptible, corrupt leaders. An interesting thing to hear some South African black people professing that it was better under apartheid.
this sh*t smell like crap, electro my ass, what a sh*t hole this electro looks like, so ridiculus! eat my sh*t is worst tham the "c*nt" worthington, by the way where is the leading man actor of GAYVATARD? where is this international star? i wonder what happen with his successful movie career?
Uh.. looks like someone needs to adjust his meds, Trueman...
I'm not going to go delve into the politics of Mandela here, just say that Idris Elba looks miscast here. Mandela is tall but slight, Elba is a big, buff guy with a much more intimidating physicality. Also the voice is way off the mark.
