"The Conjuring" Sequel Already in the Works

"The Conjuring" Sequel Already in the WorksSubmit Comment
When Warner Bros first screened James Wan's "The Conjuring" horror film for test audiences, the studio quickly found out that it might have a hit on its hands. Warner Bros immediately gave the film a summer release (July 19th) and has now announced that a sequel is already in the works.

"The Conjuring" tells the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga), world renowned paranormal investigators, who were called to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Any sequels would continue the supernatural investigations performed by the Warrens.

While James Wan has become known for launching horror franchises (Saw, Insidious), it's not clear if he'll return to direct "The Conjuring 2," since he'll be busy working on "Fast and Furious 7."

At one point I had serious hope for Wan. He showed inventiveness, passion and a unique fresh take on horror. Now he's just a hack who makes the same stupid haunted house movie over and over and over and...

While I do wish Wan would branch out more. I feel that his films stay away from the Blood splatter and gore (Saw not included) and attempt to scare audiences on actual fear and scares.

So he is still on my radar for now.

He should make a film from Clive Barker's first novel, The Damnation Game. It would make a great movie and it has a very interesting story too.

It could be expensive though.
