Today we have the trailer for "Wadjda," the first feature film shot entirely in Saudi Arabia by a female director. While the movie focuses on a 10-year-old Saudi girl fighting to buy and ride a bicycle, which girls aren't allowed to do in the country, the film's director, Haifaa al-Mansour, had to figure out how to shoot "Wadjda" despite restrictions on women working in public.
According to Time magazine, Saudi Arabia granted permission for the "Wadjda" to be shot in the country, but refused to let al-Mansour work in public. As a result, the director had to helm the movie from inside a van, giving instructions via walkie-talkies.
Plot: Every day Wadjda passes a toy store window showing a beautiful green bicycle. Although it is forbidden for girls to ride bicycles, Wadjda concocts a plan to earn enough money to afford the bike by secretly selling 'illicit products' in her schoolyard.
At first, Wadjda's mother is too preoccupied with convincing her husband not to take a second wife to realize what's going on. Wadjda's plans are soon exposed, leaving her with only one last chance to make the money she needs; a Koran recital competition with a big cash prize. With her slyness and cunning mind, Wadjda tries to find a way to rise above her fellow competitors to make her most cherished dream come true... the green bicycle.
"Wadjda" has already appeared at numerous film festivals and is now set to hit theaters on September 13th, in limited release.
finished 'white house down' - meh...i give it 5.5/10...started out pretty good but then ended in a very cheesy way.
Channing Tatum destroyed this movie - really poor casting.Jamie Foxx didn't feel like a use president but more like Jamie Foxx being Jamie Foxx.
James Woods was the only beacon of light along with Jason Clarke as the bad guys - I was routing for them all along to kill the president,Tatum and his annoying kid.

All they had to do was ask her to get in the van? Normally they put up a fight and you have to hit them with the old "does this towel smell like chloroform" routine. Shiiit if I knew it was that easy I would have saved myself a lot of effort.
Whats she doing in a van anyway? Shouldn't be in the kitchen cooking my cliches.
