Trailer for Terry Gilliam's "The Zero Theorem," with Christoph Waltz and Matt Damon, Leaked Online

Trailer for Terry GilliamSubmit Comment
Voltage Pictures is getting ready to start showing their "The Zero Theorum" film, starring Christoph Waltz (Django Unchained) and directed by Terry Gilliam (Twelve Monkeys), at film festivals and has put together a sales trailer for the movie. That trailer has now leaked online. Watch it below.

Plot: The story centers on Qohen Leth (Waltz), an eccentric and reclusive computer genius plagued with existential angst, who works on a mysterious project aimed at discovering the purpose of existence - or the lack thereof - once and for all. However, it is only once he experiences the power of love and desire that he is able to understand his very reason for being.

The new movie co-stars Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, Peter Stormare, David Thewlis, and Melanie Thierry.

Removed at the request of the studio.

Intriguing premise and Christopher Waltz is a fascinating film unto himself, if his IB and DU roles are any indication.

@mink
Dude won an Oscar for both films...one of the few award streaks I respected both times. Guy is just too damn brilliant. If anything about "Green Hornet" was good it was Waltz, funny enough, going through an existential crisis about him being old news. He is not normal in a lot of respects and acting is so damn restrained where everyone is so flippin' boring that Waltz just takes you back to a time where actors could play unique parts and they challenge themselves. And that's why I hope Waltz takes home a lead Oscar soon. Guy has made a lot of people look good...now it's his turn and this movie might just do it if he goes all in like his Tarantino roles.

Yep, that's a Terry Gilliam film alright.

Fascinating.

Wicked. We need more thought provoking films like this and less films where characters talk about god and heaven like they exist. Might smarten up the general population of sheep retards.

I also didn't see Matt Damon once in that trailer.

The plot and Gilliam is enough to see it...no questions asked. I am f*cking there!!

Waltz is just the icing on a great project.

These are the adult movies/ themes that are needed to make Hollywood evolve and diversify, to give the moviegoers something worthwhile to see. Just because people see Meet the Spartans or Scary Movie 4 doesn't automatically mean that's what they want...sometimes it means thats all thats Hollywood is willing to drum up. Hollywood then looks at the numbers and think thats what people want because its making money...like a lame, mediocre circle.

If I'm honest with myself, I'll admit Gilliam is hit and miss, but when he hits, there are few that do it better. Brazil, 12 Monkeys, Fear and Loathing- masterpieces, or at least close to it. I'll be first in line for this one.
