Director Jon Chu to Return for "GI Joe 3"

Posted: June 11th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Director Jon Chu to Return for "GI Joe 3"Submit Comment
"GI Joe: Retaliation," the second installment in the franchise, was released earlier this year and went on to gross $365 million globally on a budget of $130 million. Apparently Paramount Pictures is happy with the results, because it is now moving forward with a third installment.

The studio just signed a deal with Jon Chu to return to direct "GI Joe 3." Skydance will once again finance the film. A search for writers has already started.

Regarding actors, it's still unknown who will return for the third movie. It's expected that Bruce Willis and Dwayne Johnson will be brought back.

smart release date - people were hungry for a blockbuster in march/april - if it would have been released now it wouldn't have been so succesful

Do directors even have to try anymore to get good gigs in Hollywood? Chu directs a Justin Bieber concert film and gets a franchise action-adventure sequel. The directors of DRILLBIT TAYLOR get handed CAPTAIN AMERICA 2. I'm expecting RZA, who did a horrible job directing THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS, to get the director's job for the next James Bond film.

@cress

That's because those commercial whores pretending to be directors are easier for the studios to control. They have no creative integrity or pride in their work so as a result they don't get in the studio's way.

@Avirex. I agree. They're 'yes men' all the way.

What a total waste of great movie material. A larger f*ck up than what Paramount did to Transformers. But I bet Hasbro is happy with the toy sales.

The new Die Hard (whatever the f*ck it's called) is the worst movie Willis has made. It's a terrible film.
minkowski writes:

I agree. Die Hard 5 is pure absolute trash. Had some promise early on with the highway sequence, which in itself was poorly shot, but soon thereafter the film's remainder went nowhere fast.
