"Man of Steel" Hints at Appearance of Another Superhero

"Man of Steel" Hints at Appearance of Another SuperheroSubmit Comment
During an interview with CraveOnline, "Man of Steel" producer Deborah Snyder spoke about how the movie hints at other characters that will make an appearance in future DC movies.

SPOILERS:

"I'm not going to say what it means or anything, but if you look closely when Henry [Cavill] is going through the Fortress of Solitude, [where] all the bodies [are in] pods. There's an empty pod," she said. "I'm not going to say what, or if, it means anything but there is an empty pod there."

CraveOnline's next question was whether that empty pod belongs to Supergirl, who is Superman's cousin Kara Zor-El. Snyder refused to answer, but according to the prequel comic book that was written by "Man of Steel" writer David Goyer and given out to those who pre-ordered Blu-ray copies of the movie from Wal-Mart, that's exactly who the pod belongs to.

Will we see Supergirl in "Man of Steel 2"? It looks like it's very possible. Check out a few pages from the comic book below to see everything for yourself.

I think this is smart filmmaking. Obviously DC and Warners are anticipating Man of Steel to be a massive hit, so why not have a little fun with it? The empty pod may suggest Supergirl but it doesn't mean they HAVE to use her, it just keeps their options open creatively so they could ret-con Supergirl into the story in a sequel or in the Justice League film and it will fit in with the continuity better.
As far as casting goes... I don't know, those photoshopped pics of Elisha Cuthbert as Supergirl from a few years back looked pretty good... who do you guys think would make a good Supergirl?
