JJ Abrams to Turn "Twilight Zone" Creator's Final Script Into a TV Mini-Series

JJ Abrams to Turn "Twilight Zone" CreatorSubmit Comment
There are two "Twilight Zone" movies in the works, as well as a reboot of the original TV series. And now comes word that JJ Abrams (Star Trek) has acquired the rights to "The Stop Along the Way," the final screenplay of "Twilight Zone" creator Rod Serling.

Serling wrote the script almost forty years ago and actually mentioned it in an interview just before his death. While very little is know about the plot, Serling said that it's one of his favorite tales.

Abrams and his Bad Robot production company are planning to turn "The Stop Along the Way" into a television mini-series. Stay tuned.

Just don't f*ck it up with Rod Serling's masterpiece JJ!

I hope he'll bear in mind that The Twilight Zone is the most brilliant tv show ever created.

@Bullitt

He's said that The Twilight Zone was a huge influence on him so hopefully that'll keep him from toying with Serling's work too much.

f*cking tragic Serling had to die at 50.

Damn, I didn't know he died at 50... that sucks. I thought 57 was young. (My pops passed then)

All about perspective, though...

All those cigarettes didn't help...hell, he couldn't even stop smoking when he was onscreen during THE TWILIGHT ZONE.

If the script is about three factions fighting over a force that could destroy the world, but happens to be completely boring, then Abrams will knock it out of the park.

I remember watching the film version of Jerome Bixbi´s screenplay The Man from Earth, great tale it was, even though it could have been better with less budget that what they got. I was astounded.

But Twilight Zone has some good bits.
