Zack Snyder Explains How Batman is Connected to "Man of Steel"

Zack Snyder Explains How Batman is Connected to "Man of Steel"Submit Comment
Director Zack Snyder is promoting his upcoming "Man of Steel" movie and is answering all types of questions about the future of the DC superheroes. While he rarely reveals details, Snyder spoke about a scene in the film that confirms that Superman, Batman and the rest of the superheroes are part of the same universe.

"The Wayne Enterprises logo is on a satellite that Zod destroys," he explained. "I don't know [if this means that Superman and Batman will team up]. Everything is interesting at this point. And don't forget that Lex [Luthor] is out there, doing who knows what."

Even though the scene is meaningless for the movie's story, it shows that Warner Bros is attempting to connect its superheroes. And since we'll get "Man of Steel 2" before "Justice League of America," expect that connection to become more obvious.

All it means is Superman exists within the same universe as Wayne Enterprise, a fact of which all of us are already aware.

That's kinda cool, I'd like to see how they could bring them both together for something. Although unless they brough Christian bale into it I don't see how they could do it lol

You know, the more I see of this film, the more nervous I become. It's starting to look a little bland visually. Amy Adams looks miscast (and I think she is a good actress). The biggest problem, though, is that Diane Lane is not on my c*ck.

Poor Mark Pillow could definitely use the work!

Right. Like the last name of Pillow is masculine.

@mink

I seriously think that Mark Pillow owns a Tow Truck company called 'Pillow-Biters' or something. His only film role was Quest 4 Peace.

SPOILER?

SPOILER?

Luthor does have a small role towards the end?
Anyone know if they're keeping his portrayer a secret or are they just gonna do something stupid like show the back of a bald guys head ?

Yes Lex Luthor is in the movie, played by Mackenzie Gray. He has several lines of dialogue after Superman kills General Zod for murdering Diane Lane, Ma Kent.

He wears the classic grey suit at the end of the movie.

I thought Mackenzie Gray is playing one of Zod's scientist flunkies?

Yes like Benedict c*mberbatch was 'John Harrison' in Star Trek Into Darkness but was actually Khan.

It's called a twist.

Jax-Ur/Lex Luthor has a fight against Superman with Faora and he is in this suit:

I am not spoiling the entire movie but I read a now deleted thread on imdb last night.

A few points:

Zod is a bit like The Mandarin in the movie. He dies about halfway through and the real villains are Faora and Lex Luthor. They are intimately involved and it is a bizarro-type version of the Superman/Lois Lane relationship.

Lexcorp is featured throughout the movie followed by Wayne Enterprises. Events of Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy is mentioned in the film along with Gotham City.

Ryan Reynolds has a cameo as Hal Jordan.

Clark Kent gets a pair of glasses near the end of the movie.
SaulSilver writes:

god damn I hope that's misinformation.
Deaft0ne writes:
on June 2nd, 2013 at 1:59:35 PM

@saul

No it was from a test screening.

Additional points:

The Daily Planet is now a website in the movie. Perry White's first scene has him lamenting the loss of a print edition.

Kal-El's crash landing in Smallville is shot identically to Superman I.

Russell Crowe as Jor-El has some similar dialogue to Marlon Brando. You know it when you hear it.

The Phantom Zone is airships placed out of the atmosphere of Krypton and it is implied that it has the effect of Kryptonite on Zod and other Kryptonians. Large arm-length shackles and locks are placed on them when they stand trial.

Terence Stamp has a cameo as a member of the Kryptonian council.

Of course Snyder rarely reveals details...all his big movies are based off comic books and graphic novels so he doesn't have to! Except Sucker Punch but wasn't exactly a lot of story there. LOL

I take two things from this...A) this looks legit as a movie and B) Diane Lane is still smoking hot!...
sedibus writes:

Whoa! So Zack Snyder is going to be the Stanley Kubrick of Comic-book or Graphic Novel Adaptations.

I always thought what kind of writer Kubrick was.
I know he was really good adapting someone elses material. Well.
Phoenix Fire writes:

I seriously don't ever want to see Lex Luthor as the main villain ever again. That's been played out.
Tanman32123 writes:

Damn lol.. Look at all those spoilers!

Also, Most likely a dumb question but I'm going to ask anyways. This is officially a reboot right? Lol

Zack Snyder Explains How Batman is Connected to "Man of Steel" ... and yet noone can explain Brett Ratner's success without using the word's "gag reflex" and "deep throating".

Oh. And Zack still can't explain Sucker Punch ... without using the word's "gag reflex" and "deep throating".....
