Director Bryan Singer updated his Twitter account with a new photo from the set of "X-Men: Days of Future Past," giving us a look at Beast (Nicholas Hoult) and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) from 1973. Check out the photo below.

"X-Men: Days of Future Past" has Kitty Pryde sending her mind back to her younger self in order to warn the X-Men that Senator Robert Kelly's assassination will result in a future where Sentinels rule the United States and mutants live in internment camps.

The new movie co-stars Ian McKellen, Patrick Stewart, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Anna Paquin, Ellen Page, Shawn Ashmore, Peter Dinklage, Omar Sy, Halle Berry, Daniel Cudmore, Fan Bingbing and Boo Boo Stewart. It's set to hit theaters on July 18th, 2014.

Uhhhhhhh, I thought Wolverine didn't know any of the characters until the events of X1? (Him telling Xavier and Magneto to f*ck off, aside)

Holy sh*t. I figured it out. In the possible post-credit scene to "The Wolverine" it is said Jackman meets Patrick Stewart. And the picture we keep seeing with this movie is the animated comic shot of Wolverine protecting Kitty. What if Kitty and Wolverine get sent back together into their past bodies. And when they return the past version of themselves won't remember it.

@SaulSilver
That is why he wouldn't remember and none of the members in First Class are there when X-men 1's storyline begins.

Or Jackman's past self if recruited and past Xavier just erases his memory. Whatever. I liket the first idea better. LOL

P.S. No idea who that girl is in the photo for the article. I am just guessing. Plus, in the comics, Wolverine has a close relationship to Kitty. Makes sense that if anyone goes back with her it's him.

Aaaaaand the sh*t thickens.

@mink
Hey that be the most complicated these stories have ever gotten...basically like a comic book series where the story gets convoluted and hurts your head. Which, to me, be a step up.
BlackDynamite writes:

@Sleuth: If you're talking about the comic picture, yes that is Kitty Pryde.

Also, in more important "nice f*ck up, Fox" news, didn't Hank McCoy hit his blue furry secondary mutation at the end of First Class? He's looking pretty fleshy there, and I refuse to believe they had image inducers in the late 60's, early 70's.

@Sleuth: let's be real here for a minute. The only reason FOX is in this bungle with the X-Men is because of Last Stand. After Ratner's film, they still had the rights, so they went for a prequel series and the stand-alone Wolverine films. Now they're doing an end-run so as to salvage the series and perhaps move forward with an X-Men 4. Anything but give the property back to Marvel.

So you see sophistication, I see a gigantic ball of f*cking twisted Christmas lights, and this latest X-Men film serves as Fox's "Alexandrian Solution".

"So, in 333 BC, while wintering at Gordium, Alexander the Great attempted to untie the knot. When he could not find the end to the knot to unbind it, he sliced it in half with a stroke of his sword, producing the required ends (the so-called "Alexandrian solution")."

Hint: Kobayashi maru.

@BlackDynamite
Well you never know. They never really covered the image inducer concept when Nightcrawler showed up in X2. Could be that or something else. If I recall didn't Hank have a serum that he took for awhile that kept him human looking? I know it eventually stops working but maybe that is the route they go. Would make sense if you follow "First Class". Mystique embraced being more mutant than human so maybe Hank kept trying to and succeeds for awhile before his body adapts to it and has to finally accept this is who he is and to stop bitching.

@mink
Well duh it's a mess!!! Ratner f*cked everything up. He killed off Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Professor X although X lives thanks to a lame plot point. Since Singer though has made the best X-Men movies so far I am going to assume there is some decent stuff coming. Have faith mink. I know it's hard because FOX is basically known for screwing up comic book movies but let's assume Singer gets to make it work again like when he helmed the series. I mean he is the X-Men series. Every decent X-Men film he has either written or directed. Just saying there is a common variable there.

@mink. Nice star trek reference there. Fitting that its coming out in a few days

Yeah, Wolverine really looks like he drank from the fountain of youth in that picture.

No matter what, this movie won't cover all the loose ends from both sides. I just want to see what they can glue together with reasonable explanation and what they fail on or completely ignore.

if this is afterthe events of the last xmen movie, then why is beast young????

Yes kitty goes back to her 1970s self, as a sperm in her daddy's balls.

Wasn't interested in this one really, but I'm gonna have to go watch it now to see how they get around all the continuity problems. 10 says it's all a dream that Jean Grey is having, and the events of neither X3 or FC never happened, and it represents her inner struggle with The Phoenix, or some bullsh*t to that point.
