Marvel Planning "Blade," "Ms Marvel," "Iron Fist" and "Black Panther" Films

Marvel Planning "Blade," "Ms Marvel," "Iron Fist" and "Black Panther" FilmsSubmit Comment
In a new article about internal negotiations between Marvel and its actors, THR revealed that the studio is looking toward the future and already has scripts for a "Blade" and "Ms Marvel" films. Other projects on the horizon are "Iron Fist," "Black Panther" and "The Runaways."

That doesn't mean that any of those projects will be part of Phase Three (between "The Avengers 2" and "The Avengers 3"), but the studio is definitely looking for new superheroes to build franchises around. At this point "Ant-Man" and "Doctor Strange" are set for Phase Three, leaving room for at least two more characters to get their own films.

Surprisingly, The Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and War Machine (Don Cheadle) will likely remain on the sidelines. Marvel head Kevin Feige recently confirmed that there are no plans to give the superheroes their own stand-alone movies.

And even though Marvel recently got back the rights to Ghost Rider, Power Man, The Punisher, and Daredevil, the studio is not planning to start adding them to its cinematic universe. In fact, characters like Elektra are so uninteresting to Marvel that Feige isn't even sure about the status of Elektra. "Elektra is part of the Daredevil contract, I believe," he said. "Don't quote me on that, I'd have to check with legal."

It's official: WP is the personal publicist for Marvel.

I'm afraid that W. Sniper is too old for the Blade reboot.

Marvel better starts by getting an actor with dirt cheap salary.

W Snipes should appear in the next Twilight movie & settle things once & for all .. I f*ckin hate that movie ...

As long as we get a damn Mark Ruffalo Hulk film in 2016. ALSO...Banner and Hulk better have a larger part in Avengers 2...most agreed he was the best thing about the first movie...so yeah...give the people more of what they like.
SACdaddy writes:

Nice line up but make sure you get bigger stars for these less known superheros or nobody will care. And at least use Wesley for one more Blade film before a reboot. Dude ain't too old. He ages like the character.

I'd watch another Blade. YOLO!

what if jaden smith is blade? you'll still watch it?
Cannon writes:

I'm sure it's been said, but they need to just do for Marvel Knights what they did with The Avengers, but keep it a separate universe.

So, bring together Daredevil, Elektra, Blade, Ghost Rider and Punisher (for starters) in some form or another for a more adult, and ideally R-rated, series of films.

Any thoughts?

Janus writes:

Doctor Strange is not set for Phase 3. Feige only said they are looking into the character and the script if it's in Phase 3. That's a huge difference.

Snipes is Blade. Leave it be you hacks.
minkowski writes:

So, as they introduce these second and third tier characters, what's going to happen to the first tier ones? Hopefully people just lose interest and comic book movies fade away.

BlackDynamite writes:

Wait. So you're tlling me that Marvel is apparently planning an Iron Fist movie, but has no plans to put out Power Man?

Everyone knows Iron Fist and Power Man work best in Heroes for Hire, unless they plan on doing an Iron Fist solo movie, then a Heroes for Hire movie, with the plot centering on Luke Cage/Power Man.
M. Bullitt writes:

"Who the hell is "W. Sniper"? George Bush on the grassy knoll?"

LOL!

Snipes obviously.
Deaft0ne writes:

Iron Man 4 and a new Hulk movie with Ruffalo will be the other 2 phase 3 movies along with Ant-Man and Doctor Strange. Marvel is already shafting the Chris duo over Thor&Capt Amer and they can't count on any other movie as it would be too risky.
CelluloidMan writes:
on May 9th, 2013 at 10:54:13 AM

I'd really like Snipes for BLADE...I really do, but the fact is that he's no spring chicken & the studio MAY want to distance themselves from the sh*t-fest of part 3...

As for Iron Fist, it'd be great if they actually took the martial arts seriously...but who would be a great IF? Maybe that Kato from Seth Rogen's GREEN HORNET?

As Ms. Marvel, that'd be a hard nut to crack casting wise...
velocityknown writes:

you do realise this title is mis-leading no where is the piece does it say marvel are working on the films so please put a more correct title
Deaft0ne writes:
on May 9th, 2013 at 12:33:43 PM

No Janus but with Chris Evans and Hemsworth possibly being replaced, I doubt a Thor 3 and Captain America 3 will be a part of Phase 3. Marvel has already said Doctor Strange probably will and Iron Man 4 is all but a certainty. With fans clamoring for a new Hulk movie with Ruffalo i'd say that lineup as Phase 3 is very likely.
Deaft0ne writes:
on May 9th, 2013 at 12:36:14 PM

My guess is the Thor and Captain America characters may not even appear in The Avengers 3 and would be replaced by Doctor Strange and Ant-Man. Nothing wrong with a change anyways.
Malcontent writes:

PUNISHER, BLADE, GHOST RIDER, & DAREDEVIL IN A MARVEL KNIGHTS MOVIE WOULD BE AMAZING.
INDIVIDUALLY I'M NOT INTERESTED BUT AS A COLLECTIVE THESE CHARACTERS ARE KICK ASS.
THEY COULD REINVENT THEM IN MUCH BETTER, DARKER FILM GEARED TOWARDS ADULTS RATHER THAN STAND ALONE PG-13 FILMS.

New on Disney's Pixar-Marvel comic book animation movie, Big Hero 6

http://movies.yahoo.com/blogs/movie-talk/disney-animation-meets-marvel-comics-big-hero-6-181331425.html

Big Hero 6" is based on the comic book series created in 1998 by Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau that chronicles the adventures of a Japanese government-sanctioned team of superheroes. The story mostly centers on Hiro Takachiho, a 13-year-old tech genius and reluctant new member of the team, and his synthetic bodyguard/sidekick, Baymax.

I'd list them, but all you have to do is take every DC character and subtract Superman. That's the list.

That would be a great casting idea, if Iron Fist wasn't Caucasian.

And lol Mink, I thought for a second you said Big Hero 6 was written by Steven SEAGAL.

you just suck so much ass. you act like a know-it-all but you can't even get simple details like that right. and then you laugh like BWAHAHAHAHAHA! laugh at yourself, sh*t for brains.
minkowski writes:

^^lol. Did I ever state the morons over at CinemaBlend didn't make other suggestions? No. I said they suggested Captain America as a replacement for Iron Man.

What are the facts? Did they or did they not suggest Captain America? Yes. In fact, Captain America seems to be their main suggestion.

Now, I don't expect you to return here to defend your absolutely febrile nonsense, because like most low-bro people such as yourself, as evidenced by your immediate name-calling and your fourth-grade avatar, obviously your only intent is to cause friction, so perhaps please refrain in the future from making idiotic, illiterate and erroneous remarks, if for no other reason than for the salvation of your diminished dignity.

At B. Dynamite

A black Kingpin, a latina Invisible Woman and a possible black Human Torch? Why start now with a white martial artist?

Plus, who'd buy a white guy as a martial artist? LOL.Adding to that, how many asian superheroes are there anyways...f*ck it, I. Fist will be asian-american...LOL

BlackDynamite writes:
on May 9th, 2013 at 11:30:09 PM

@Celluloid Man: Ironically, 2/3 of those were Fox decisions, and one was a rumor, one that sounds incredibly stupid.

Also, considering Jason Statham, Chuck Norris, JCVD, and Steven Seagal (to a lesser extent), a Caucasian/White martial artist isn't that far off at all.

If you want an Asian Martial Artist hero in an Marvel movie, just look for Shang-Chi.
BlackDynamite writes:
on May 9th, 2013 at 11:34:37 PM

@CelluloidMan: Also, in terms of Marvel Asian superheroes there's Shang-Chi, Sunfire, Armor, Surge, Jubilee, Radioactive Man, all of Big Hero 6, Psylocke, Colleen Wing, Amadeus Cho, and Karma, off the top of my head.

I could only see Shang-Chi Big Hero 6, Jubilee, and Colleen Wing (in a Heroes for Hire type deal) holding up their own films however.
