"Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" Begins Filming, New Plot Synopsis RevealedSubmit Comment
20th Century Fox announced that "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes," the sequel to "Rise of the Planet of the Apes," has started filming in New Orleans. The studio also unveiled a new plot synopsis for the movie.

Plot: A growing nation of genetically evolved apes led by Caesar (Andy Serkis) is threatened by a band of human survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant species.

The new movie is directed by Matt Reeves (Cloverfiend, Let Me In) and co-stars Jason Clarke (Zero Dark Thirty), Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Toby Kebbell (Wrath of the Titans), Kodi Smit-McPhee (Let Me In), Enrique Murciano (Traffic), Kirk Acevedo (The Thin Red Line) and Judy Greer (The Descendants). It's set to hit theaters on May 23rd, 2014.

Monkeys take over world. People die.

There's all the plot synopsis anyone needs.

I wonder if it will be harder for people to take this one as seriously. Rather realistically portrayed apes getting smarter and violent is one thing, but once you start developing ape society, have them talking and interacting in a more human nature...are people still going to buy it? Should be interesting.

I liked it better when i thought that we blew up the world and evolution just took over.

And what about those telikenetic mutants from thr sequel?
Are they gonna create another virus to explain them.

And i wonder if the original Nova is hardup enough to let me bang her while i watch the original POTA

I hope Fox doesn't f****** destroy this one now that original director has left.

Same for X-Men First Class 2.

A studio shouldn't kick out the people who saved a franchise that people starting to not give a sh*t about it.

I remember no one expect ROTPOTA to be that great and it turned out to be great and became a sleeper hit.

I hope these sequels can better than the first movies.
