Jason Statham Confirmed for "Fast and Furious 7"Submit Comment
About a year ago, it was rumored that Jason Statham was in talks to join "Fast and Furious 6," but ended up turning down the role. Then earlier this year, AICN learned that Statham was negotiating to join "Fast and Furious 7" as the main villain, play the older brother of Luke Evans' character.

And now, while promoting the sixth installment, Michelle Rodriguez confirmed Statham's involvement. "Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson," she said. "When you see these guys in a room you know they belong together. I applaud Universal for getting him on board."

"Fast and Furious 7" will be directed by James Wan (Insidious, Saw) and is set to hit theaters on July 11th, 2014.

This is going to suck hard, especially with the "talent" behind SAW and INSIDIOUS.

Let the butt-f*cking begin.

Yeah, and that would be a waiting room for a hair plug procedure.

Smart idea. If The Rock won't make the F and F franchise his, old Jason Statham will. By now, Jason can wreck a car and kick a villain in his sleep, and if you've seen The Mechanic, you'd argue he already does.

The Mechanic remake was actually badass. Simon West did a better job directing that than he did on The Expendables 2.

And Luke Evans cries because he's not returning for the butt pounding.

I feel asleep during the remake of Thee Mechanic, Deaft0ne...totally forgettable film with Staham on auto-pilot, as usual. Zero character and plot development.

@mink

lol oh well, I liked it because it again reminded me of a 90s action movie and had a fun mood to it and it was hilarious when Statham&Ben Foster f*cked up Tony Goldwyn.

I thought Mechanic was slow up until the middle.

Will somebody please kick the nuts of the next person who decides to make another F&F.
minkowski writes:

@Deaft0ne: perhaps I'll give it another go, but I just remember thinking Statham was terribly underused, and that's saying something for the guy who does almost nothing in his films but speak with a heavy accent and beat up people.

Snatch was a looooooong time ago, I guess...

I enjoyed 'The Mechanic' but the ending was f*cking stupid. The CGI blood like in every movie these days was also silly. Foster was good though.

Faster and Furiouser-rer

Will likely feature Vin Diesel driving his muscle car atop a rocket and flying into orbit.

As odd as it sounds, this could be pretty good. You know what you are getting with the F&F series and you know what you get with Statham, sit back and switch your mind off. Still need to watch Fast 5. Wheres Crank 3 though?

Transporter 4 or f*ck off

As bad as it may seem, I've been wanting them to tie in Luke's character's story line.
