Luke Evans Confirmed for "The Crow" Reboot

Luke Evans Confirmed for "The Crow" RebootSubmit Comment
About two weeks ago, it was reported that Tom Hiddleston (Thor, The Avengers) was in talks to star in the upcoming "The Crow" reboot. Then came word that Alexander Skarsgard was also in talks. And then it was revealed that neither actor was strongly considered.

Now, Relativity Media has confirmed that Luke Evans (Immortals, Fast and Furious 6) has been cast as the lead in "The Crow." It turns out that he was original choice of director F. Javier Gutierrez, but due to scheduling problems, the actor wasn't able to accept the role. As a result, other actors were looked at, but then the studio decided to push back production in order to get Evans on board.

Evans will play a rock musician who is murdered while trying to save his fiancee from thugs. He is resurrected by supernatural forces and seeks revenge. The role was originally played by Brandon Lee, who was killed by a freak accident during production in 1993.

He looks gay to me. Probably lived with what's her name for cover. 37, never been married, no kids, enjoys playing gay characters? Yeah, something's up with that dude. Either that or he's another self-centered white Westerner who refuses to take on the responsibility of having a family because a lifetime of empty hedonism is so much more preferable.

And f*ck Putman. Worthless sack of jackal jism.

DOnt call it The Crow
Call it The Black Hawk

That way he can go around saying,"Im looking for my black hawk"

"i have the black hawks power inside me"
"the blackhawk has awoken something inside of me"
"i see through the blackhawks eye"
"i am overwhelmed with blackhawk power"

f*ck this movie

Luke Evans might have a promising career, but The Crow is too good for him...

On a side note: Look at that big ass nose...looks like he picks his nose with his thumb!

@cress
Sadly the girl from "Tranformvers 2" who was that robot chick also was more interesting than the main hero in "Immortals". I think her name was Isabel LUcas.

@Ip_man
Well played.

@everyone
I honestly need to see what he is like in "Fast & Furious 6". In "Immortals" he was good but he was kind of an almighty, very simply character. It might be the same in F & F 6 but at least it adds a sense of corruption and change of pace. Plus we can maybe see what Evans does action was since in "Immortals" it was mostly special effects that fueled the action scenes.
Kurskij writes:

@porn

Giggity

OT: I don't mind the guy, he might be a poofer, but at least he doesn't look like one (unlike Spock-nouveau).

But this movie will cost what, $50 mil. at the very least? They might return most of it with pre-sales, but I don't see it succeeding. The Crow is a cult favorite and was a solid hid at the time, but it didn't break any records to put it mildly. And when you cater to the limited fan demographic you get "Dredd 3D"
Sleuth1989 writes:
on May 5th, 2013 at 7:35:52 PM

@Kurskij
The Crow at the time was actually critically praised. Everyone said Lee would have made his career with this film and he would have. He was incredible. If Bradley Cooper had actually gone through with the remake he was involved in it would have been horrible. No way he could have captured the gothic brilliance filled in this film without copying Lee. Evans on the other hand has shown an intensity in his roles with what little material he has been given. He was great in "The Raven", a very unappreciated film and John Cusack was great as well.
Avirex writes:

You know they've scraped the bottom when they have to go through 20,000 directors, writers and actors before finally making any real developments.

"The Crow at the time was actually critically praised"

No argument about that.
CelluloidMan writes:

True, Brandon Lee's breakout role would've been THE CROW, but he was already making his (minimal) mark in movies such as RAPID FIRE (a favorite of mine) and before that was an OK one called SHOWDOWN IN LITTLE TOKYO with Dolph Lungdren playing a samurai & Lee plays a Americanized Chinese dentist's son thats a police rookie...sh*t you not.

The one before that, I believe, was an English dubbed Chinese film called LASER MISSION...kinda sucked, IMO.

Anyways...an FYI.
