Which Actor Turned Down Mark Wahlberg's Role in "Transformers 4"?Posted: April 27th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Before it was officially announced, there were plenty of rumors that Mark Wahlberg was cast in "Transformers 4." Michael Bay eventually confirmed the news, stating that he was convinced that Wahlberg was the right person for the job after working together on "Pain and Gain."
A bit later, Bay revealed that it was Wahlberg who asked him to be in the movie, because he wanted to make something that his kids could watch and be proud of. And now comes word there's a reason why Wahlberg had to approach Bay about the role. That reason is that Bay wanted another "Pain and Gain" actor.
"Michael Bay offered me 'Transformers 4,' but I was unavailable due to 'Hercules,'" Dwayne Johnson wrote on Twitter on Friday. "Then Wahlberg was offered the role."
It's not surprising that Bay first wanted Johnson, since the actor is often brought on to give new life to franchises as he's done with "GI Joe: Retaliation," "Journey 2: The Mysterious Island" and "Fast Five."

This article doesn't make any sense with the title! It doesn't even give a clue who turned down the role.
And Whalberg wanted the role so his kids can be proud of him? A violent film with gruesome killing scenes!? Yeah whatever Mark.

Could that be because of not having The Rock they'll lose tons of $?? Nah, I don't think so. Bay is very good in directing and marketing bunch of mindless Popcorn movies.

I would've liked to seen Marlee Matlin get a role in this. Her grunts and garbled screams of "Opdimus!" would have been a refreshing change of pace.

^^Of course there isn't, if and only if you think the website exists only so attention whore posters, and their mindless drooling lackeys, can tell stupid, repetitive "jokes", and never talk about film/movies unless it's James Bond.
Remember, before you, and Ranger and Bullitt and all the rest, this website ROCKED, but I guess stupidity, vulgarity, crassness and vileness sells better than anything else...if you're a moribund, decadent Westerner.
Aaaaaanyway, all the little girl lamentations aside, Bay's going to regret casting Wahlberg, I hope, and Johnson is going to regret taking Hercules over Transformers, which is imo, like Arnie choosing Hercule Goes Bananas over Terminator 2.
"This article doesn't make any sense with the title! It doesn't even give a clue who turned down the role."
Sure it does. It asks a question: who was first asked to lead TF4, and who turned down the role? The answer, offered in the article: Dwayne Johnson.
You gotta read the article before you comment, dude.

You cannot have The Rock in GI Joe and Transformers. The Universe would've imploded.
