Robert Downey Jr Wants Ben Stiller to Direct Live-Action "Pinocchio" Film

Robert Downey Jr Wants Ben Stiller to Direct Live-Action "Pinocchio" FilmSubmit Comment
Over the last two years, Warner Bros has been working on a live-action "Pinocchio" movie that had Tim Burton on board to direct, Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass) writing the script, and Robert Downey Jr starring as Geppetto, the woodcarver who creates the title character.

Now, while promoting "Iron Man 3" in Italy, Downey is hinting that Burton has dropped out of the project. "I would like to make it with Ben Stiller," said the actor. It's not clear if Stiller is already in talks to direct, but he apparently impressed Downey while working together on "Tropic Thunder."

Stiller is currently receiving praise as the Las Vegas CinemaCon for his new movie, "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty," with many stating that the film has a good chance of receiving Oscar nominations.

Downey previously spoke about the story, stating: "It's about this working-class weirdo (Geppetto), who invests this inanimate object with all of the qualities he doesn’t have."

Hey Downey, I think most people know the story of Pinocchio you arrogant schmuck.

^ ^ What a pathetic comment! Keep it to yourself FFS you sheep shagger!

Bullit why are you so angry all the time? I don't think you have the right to say anyones comments are pathetic when every time I come on here you're just arguing with Enforcer like little kids. You should have just ignored the c*nt months ago but you obviously have nothing better to say.

It's mad to think that Stiller is directing films that have the word oscar in the same title. I got bored of the same character he plays every film he's in now so fair play to him. Everyone's thinking if Ben Afleck can do it, why can't we?

Why not? Stiller is not a bad director. Cable guy was good, zoolander, tropic thunder. They could do much worse. Plusif downey ccan convince him it could keep it on schedule. Maybe downey is just trying to save the movie from going back into development hell

@Cinema

You obviously didn't notice that in every single thread these 2 c*nts have nothing else better to do than to insult me and that has been going on for far too long and I got tired of all this sh*t. I doubt you would ignore them if they were at you for more than a year now. I'm just fed up with it.
Cinemaisdead writes:

To be fair I didn't know that Deaft0ne had been saying stuff as well. Like I said the best thing to do is ignore them, they will only carry on if you reply.

by "Impressed" you mean "sucked his d*ck"?
M. Bullitt writes:

All right Cinema, I'll give it a try one more time.

Cheers,

@cinemaisdead

My first comment is relevant to the article because Downey does sound arrogant by saying what Pinocchio is about as if everyone out there is that clueless.

Most children see the Disney movie and are well aware of the subject matter.

But since bullet/mcqueer is a little insipid troll he starts talking sh*t to me in THIS thread for no genuine cause.

Jb/enforcer f*cks with him so much because of this childish behavior and he, and me and others sometimes are just illustrating how silly he is with his tactless bs.

He also fabricates unsubstantiated tales about himself as if he is some real life James Bond and that is colossally stupid as well.

Bullitt's NEVER going to ignore other people's negative comments, that much is clear. He craves the attention far, far too much, which says more about him than his detractors.

Anyway, I tried giving him the very same advice months ago, but, as that character in Cool Hand Luke once said, some men you just can't reach.

Yeah, I'm one to talk, right?

As for the news, look, it's RDJ telling sh*thead Stiller to make a movie about some f*cking dildo-nosed puppet. Like anyone would ever give even half a f*ck.

This proposed film doesn't appeal to me, but it makes sense for Downey to want to pair up with Stiller again. Their previous collaboration was a commercial AND critical uber-success, plus the two of them seem to be real-life friends to boot.
minkowski writes:

Commercial success? Not sold on that one as Tropic Thunder, which is, I presume, the movie to which you are referring, cost a whopping 92 million(!), probably half of which went into actor pay, but only generated an anemic 188 mil worldwide, and as any Hollywood accountant will tell you, making back less than twice the PB isn't exactly a commercial uber-success.

Critically, it only has 88% on RT, which is a very good rating, but not worthy of the German prefix "uber" which of course translates to "super". A Super success, imo, would be somewhere in the high 90s.

Tropic Thunder is certainly no TDK, IOW.
minkowski writes:

Sorry. Slightly more, not "less". I carried one too many ones. ha!
minkowski writes:

Just offering a "critical" reply. No offense intended to you, Razor.

Cheers.
RaZoR writes:
on April 19th, 2013 at 6:58:48 PM

Yeah, you're right, "uber" was WAY too strong. I truly thought that Tropic Thunder had a bigger box office take than what you stated. Looking at the Wikipedia entry (which I should've done in the first place), even the DVD sales were good but far from stellar.
