Christopher Nolan NOT Involved with "Justice League of America," "Man of Steel" Sets Up "Justice League"Submit Comment
About a month ago, Latino-Review said that its "sources" claimed that Christopher Nolan and Christian Bale were in talks to return for the "Justice League of America" movie. Unfortunately, as with all Latino-Review reports, the story turned out to be false.

Entertainment Weekly had a chance to speak to Warner Bros President Jeff Robinov and asked him if it's true that the studio is looking to bring back Nolan and Bale. "No, it's not," he said. Nolan's representatives also confirmed that Nolan was never involved with the project.

Meanwhile, "Man of Steel" producer Charles Roven revealed that the new Superman movie will set up "Justice League." "It's setting the tone for what the movies are going to be like going forward. 'Man of Steel' is definitely a first step," he explained. "Nolan's 'Dark Knight' series was deliberately and smartly positioned as a stand-alone. The world the films lived in was very isolated, without any knowledge of other superheroes. What Zack [Snyder] and Chris have done with this film is allow [the introduction of] other characters into the same world."

Pretty sure I said this would happen, although I thought it would happen sooner.

So it seems pretty obvious that whatever Batman is involved in the Justice League is going to be different from Nolan's Batman. The whole "world" he's in will be different, apparently. Not surprising, but it does raise some questions. Will the Batman in Justice League be the one they use in the inevitable Batman reboot in a few years? Or will that be yet another version? Are they going to stick closer to realism like Nolan's version, but allow for other superheroes, or go back to Schumacher-esque preposterousness?

Also, does this mean we can expect one or more cameos in Man of Steel? I would hope we get some sight of at least one other hero. They're already rushing into Justice League half c*cked with not enough setup, it would suck to go in completely cold without even seeing any hero other than Superman first.

I know in Singer's Supes film, there was a throwaway line at The Daily Planet about Superman being spotted in Gotham. It wouldn't surprise me if something similar is in Snyder's film.

This movie has been kept so under wraps So we can only guess which direction its gonna be. If it opens big, we will hear a sh*t load of news.

WB chances set up the JL as Marvel has their properties as come and gone . Eventually people will tire of the superhero genre , it is cyclic give it a few more years at least till 2020 . By that time hollywood will be rebooting everything filmed between 1996 and 2010 , it's a matter of when not if . Also after Dark Knight Rises keep Nolan away from any comic property , talk about phoning it in .

What a total f*cking fail. And they're so late in the game too. Maybe that'll work out for them or maybe it won't. Maybe by the time Marvel has soaked up all they can, DC will have a chance at the trough, or more likely, by the time DC gets into gear, comic book movies will be passe. Dunno. All I know is leaving Nolan out for JL was the one thing that film had going for it.

Ah, but what could have been for DC, if they had only seen the writing on the wall with Marvel's movies and done the same. Batman would have been as gritty and appropriately dark, but still fantastical and not so "Jefferson's Bible". Then they wouldn't have done up Superman like Nolan did up Batman: gritty, grim, "realistic". They could have had a much bigger sandbox in which to play.

But they were far too late to the game and started off on the wrong foot, to use a few cliches. And now they have this schizophrenic patchwork of films, of which only a few are decent, none of which meshes well with any other, even though DC is now desperately trying to last-minute shoehorn their way into Marvel's business model.

lol. What a total f*cking MESS.
