Luke Evans is First Dracula in "Dracula" Origin FilmPosted: April 9th, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
Back in 2007, Universal Pictures hired Alex Proyas (Knowing, I Robot) to direct "Dracula Year Zero," an origin story about Vlad the Impaler. The plan was to show the prince at the height of his power in Romania as he risks his soul to save his wife and child from a blood-thirty sultan, and in the process becoming the first vampire.
Three years later, LatinoReview learned that the film has a $100 million budget and cast "Avatar" star Sam Worthington to play the lead role. And now, THR is reporting that the film has been renamed to "Dracula," it will be directed by Gary Shore (making his directorial debut), and will star Luke Evans (Fast and Furious 6).
The new movie has a script by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless. The plan is to start shooting later this year.

No way this film is better than the opening 10 minutes of Bram Stoker's Dracula starring Oldman. f*ck off Hwood.

"...an origin story about Vlad the Impaler."
IF only they would Finally make a film about the REAL Vlad the Impaler as it is Much more exciting and interesting from a historical point of view than to have an umpteenth version of another pointless Dracula.

He hasn't been called "the c*nt" in a long while...Any movie where Sam the c*nt worthington is replaced by someone like Luke evans, (who I am not familiar with at all, I even loved the movie "the raven" and do not remember him, so I'll go ahead and nickname him Luke "the doosh" Evans), has got to have some potential for either success or more potential.

I also saw Immortals, but don't remember him being Zeus, and he'll also be in the next two Hobbit films as Bard the Bowman. Hopefully I will start remembering who he is at some point, he's had some interesting roles.

lol. Again. Another f*cking Dracula movie. Jesus. The actual man, Vlad Tepes, who impaled people on long, upright poles through their *sshole (really), was far and away more terrifying than anything Bram Stoker ever wrote.
So instead of making a hard R movie about what this f*cker actually did, acts that make Hannibal Lecter look like a pair of winter sweater kittens, they're grafting Bram Stoker's tired retinue of blood-sucking onto Tepes, making his tale a sympathetic retelling of Anakin Skywalker morphing into Darth Vader through some musing occurrence of repeated tragedy.
f*ck off.

Vlad the impaler... They made a film about vigo the carpathian. That was good enough for me.
