Universal Pictures just released a new trailer for the upcoming "Kick-Ass" sequel, which stars Aaron Johnson, Jim Carrey, Chloe Moretz, and Christopher Mintz-Plasse. Check it out below.
Plot: The costumed high-school hero Kick-Ass (Johnson) joins with a group of normal citizens who have been inspired to fight crime in costume. Meanwhile, the Red Mist (Mintz-Plasse) plots an act of revenge that will affect everyone Kick-Ass knows.
The new movie is directed by Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down, Cry_Wolf) and co-stars Lyndsy Fonseca, Clark Duke, Lindy Booth, John Leguizamo, Morris Chestnut, and Donald Faison. It's set to hit theaters on August 16th.
It's really sad. Universal has been starving for franchises, unlike many if not most of the other studios, which is why they're desperately trying to drag the bloated corpse of Jurassic Park back to the screen. Guess they can't get into the comic book/Twilight racket. Oops.
Anyway, they now have Kick Ass, one of their few "quality" franchises, but looking here, methinks they had had better milk this sick cow before Farmer Brown decides he'd rather have hamburgers for a week instead of sour milk.
In other words, Universal better make what they can from the Kick Ass series, because I don't see this sh*t going on for as long as they need.
Looking forward to this. I think the first one was nearly flawles! Cant understand the hate kickass gets on the web. I dont know the comicbooks though. Maybe some people have a "not true to the source" problem
