It was recently reported that "End of Watch" director David Ayer has signed on to direct "Fury," which he also wrote. QED is financing the movie, which will go into production this fall.

Deadline has now learned that Ayer has already secured Brad Pitt to play the leading role in the film, which follows a five-man American tank crew in Europe in the final days of World War II.

Ayer's next film is "Ten" thriller, which stars Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sam Worthington. It's set to hit theaters on January 24th, 2014. Pitt, meanwhile, will next be seen in his "World War Z" zombie movie, which is set to be released on June 21st.

Ths sounds decent, though I'm indifferent to Pitt. Ten, however, is the movie I'm really psyched for.

That pic is like a bad emulation of Heath Ledger in 'Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'.

They should make historical fiction for events that haven't transpired. Deeply imagined, heavily contextualized. Like, the story of a Chinese infantryman in Africa battling a Muslim European army in the last days of World War 3, circa 2065. No sci-fi cliche, just a New World, Thin Red Line narrative type of flick that reflects the expected technology and society of that time and place. Try to seriously imagine what such a world would look like, realistically, and not Nolan's brand of realism either. Real realism.
