Roger Ebert Says He's Fighting Cancer Again, Will Reduce Amount of Reviews

Posted: April 3rd, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
Roger Ebert Says HeSubmit Comment
Movie critic Roger Ebert revealed on his blog last night that he will be reducing the amount of movies he reviews because his cancer has returned and he'll have to focus on his radiation treatments.

"I am not going away," Ebert explained. "My intent is to continue to write selected reviews but to leave the rest to a talented team of writers handpicked and greatly admired by me. What's more, I'll be able at last to do what I've always fantasized about doing: reviewing only the movies I want to review."

The 70-year-old writer was first diagnosed with thyroid cancer in 2002. Cancerous growths were also found on his salivary glands a year later. Surgeries to combat the disease left him without the ability to speak.

Hope the doctors don't have to remove his entire head this time.

He's f*cked. And I mean that seriously. He already had this and that removed, only for the cancer to return. He's seventy. The good thing is that the cancer hasn't metastasized. Yet. So they caught it early. But what the f*ck are they going to remove now? And chemo is sh*t. At his age he might not survive it. Lower the rems and all it does it delay the inevitable, dragging out the pain.

f*cking FDA. If it wasn't for their endless red-tape, many of these promising cancer treatments wouldn't take thirty years to go through clinical trials before being approved, if ever.

I wonder how many lives have been lost thanks to worthless bureaucracy?

Yeah, he needs to retire and spend these last few years enjoying the company of his wife.
minkowski writes:

lol. Have you seen his wife?
cress writes:

@Mink. Yeah, but I wasn't expecting Heidi Klum. If she can bring him comfort in his final years, well, that's all that matters.

*Doctors have given his prognosis a thumbs down.

Or Michelle Obama.

I thought you were being facetious, cress, whichis kind of your style, no? lol.

Looking at the details of his past medical problems, I don't think he'd going to pull out of this one, especially since he's refused any further surgery.

I wonder how I'll die.

Even though I just disagreed with mink in an early post he's spot on on this with the FDA. I don't even like Roger Ebert as a movie critic, but got to feel sorry for the guy. Cancer is a bitch.

he'll die soon, but he's got only himself to blame,he was a fat f*ck eating all kind of crap,i'll bet the doctors warned him dozen of times that he should eat more healthy food and loose weight - the implications were unavoidable so he got cancer and been suffering like a dog in recent years.
