DreamWorks Making Film About Catholic Church's Cover-Up of Pedophile PriestsPosted: April 3rd, 2013 by WorstPreviews.com Staff
|
DreamWorks has acquired the film rights to a story by the Boston Globe that investigated the Catholic Church's decades-long cover-up of its pedophile priests in Massachusetts. Tom McCarthy (The Visitor) will direct and co-write the script.
Boston Globe's team of reporters spent a year interviewing victims and reviewing thousands of pages of documents and discovered years of cover-up by Church leadership. Their reporting eventually led to the resignation of Cardinal Bernard Law, who had hidden years of serial abuse by other priests and opened the floodgates to other revelations of molestation and cover-ups around the world that still reverberate today.
"The Boston Globe's coverage of the Catholic priest scandal opened the door to a bigger story that had worldwide ramifications," said DreamWorks. "The story of how this team of editors and reporters came to uncover the truth will make a dramatic and compelling film, especially with the talents of our director Tom McCarthy and his co-screenwriter Josh Singer on board."

The Catholic church is imploring Dreamworks to instead make a film on the Kevin Clash/Elmo pedophilia scandal, as it has more box office potential.

They should make a movie about Islam. You know, where women are legally raped, rape vistims are stones, little boys are raped, camels, sheep, goats are rapes. Brick walls are raped.
Islam is a brutally male-dominated institution, but all we ever hear about is how some homosexual child molesters up in libtard New England infiltrated Catholic churches and schools, and how it was covered up because the people in charge knew it would destroy them.

^^^Here's some info
http://islamqa.info/en/ref/152058
If a woman rides a bicycle in front of men there is the possibility that she may become uncovered and part of her body may appear or the shape of her body may appear when she moves and air flows around her. For this reason it is not permissible for her to do that except in the case of necessity or urgent need, on condition that she wear clothes that cover her, with pants and socks underneath.
f*ck Islam. Absolute worst religion ever.

what exactly are you trying to say? Agreed, Islam is retarded but if you think for a half a second that Catholicism is any less disgusting then you are deeply mistaken. If north america (assuming that's where you're from) took the bible as literally as some people take the Koran then we'd be living in just as bad a sh*t hole as the middle east.

Oh god, here we go. Some bullsh*t moral equivalence between the people who favor abstinence over abortion, who dare have the temerity to disapprove of gay marriage (Oh the humanity of having an opinion contrary to politically-correct left-wing Western dogma. The heinous monsters!) to the people who will saw your f*cking head off for making a cartoon critical of Mohammed, who will kill you for experiencing the misfortune of becoming a rape victim, who will happily chop your hands off for stealing food, stone you for blasphemy, and so on and so forth.
Don't even f*cking ASK what they would do to you if you even considered imitating a gay man in San Francisco!
Sure, Islam is bad. Sure, 12th century Catholicism is just as bad as 21st century Islam, but there's the difference. Catholics moved on. They joined modernity. Many, if not most, Muslims are still partying like it's 699.
Heh. Tell you what. If it's so bad under your despicable Catholic masters, move to Iran, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Qatar. We'll see how fast your spineless whitebred Europhilic self comes running back.

I can't seem to recall the English common law provision of 1500 AD that demanded rape victims receive a free stoning, can you? And that's five centuries ago.

@ Mink
"Some bullsh*t moral equivalence between the people who favor abstinence over abortion"
Well, there are groups that bomb clinics and attack / protest the girls going there. I know it's only a small minority but there's still something there.
I'm not Christian, but I believe in abstinence over abortion. I also remember that not every girl who gets an abortion is doing so because she's an irresponsible slut.
"who dare have the temerity to disapprove of gay marriage"
I'm way too lazy to get into the theological aspect of gay marriage. But it is a civil rights issue (the main one of this time, which is kind off good if you think about it).
It's easy for us straight folk to take a relaxed (or in some cases, antagonistic) attitude, but we aren't the ones being discriminated against.
But I know that trying to explain to you that some left wing views have credibility and it's not all black and white is like trying to turn my d*ck into a unicorn by singing the theme to 'The Incredible Hulk'.
"Sure, Islam is bad. Sure, 12th century Catholicism is just as bad as 21st century Islam, but there's the difference. Catholics moved on. They joined modernity. Many, if not most, Muslims are still partying like it's 699."
This is the interesting thing about Religon. During the crusades Catholic soldiers were eating babies, raping women and generally being psychopathic douchebags. Islamic soldiers had a code that forbid killing of innocents (women, children, animals, monks and other noncombatants etc.) and the destruction of wells and orchids. Hell, they even fed their defeated enemies.
The funny thing about Religon is that there is no 'moving on' phase. The current state of various Middle Eastern countries would bring shame to their ancestors. It would be like if in 300 years some *sshole took the teachings of Fred Phelps and applied them to whole countries.
"I can't seem to recall the English common law provision of 1500 AD that demanded rape victims receive a free stoning, can you? And that's five centuries ago."
Ever read Deuteronomy?
