People liked this movie? Are we just franchising everything now that's fantasy-oriented and blandly-inoffensive and aimed at idiot teenagers?

It appears so Dreamcast.

It's already a franchise of two book series (more than ten novels) of which the first made enough money when made into a movie, so it's logical to do more movies.

I have a series of books which revolve around the various liquid bowel movements I get after eating Taco Loco. Can I get a three movie deal with Spielberg, please.

I'd rather watch Mink's bowel movement than this load of monkey splooge.

@Janus from a business sense you are indeed correct, there does appear to be an audience for these films. But i am more interested in reading and adapting Minks book series in to a screenplay for his bowl movement potential franchise.

I didn't really find anything memorable about the first movie and I think this one will too.

The real Greek gods must be pissed at this showing of disrespect.

It's funny cuz the guy who directed Harry Potter directed the Lightning thief movie. It really does look like it belongs in a shared universe.

Alexandra Daddario has the sickest body in Hollywood and they cover her in ugly flannel?
These people are bad bad people.

Harry Potter rip-off? Check.
Pirates of the Caribbean rip-off? Check.
Stanley Tucci? Check.
Honestly, I don't think this movie could steal any more big-budget cinematic cliches if it tried.

Despite the fact that half of those scenes in the trailer happened in the first book, and one or two happened in the third, it still looks a lot better than The Lightning Thief.
