Ryan Reynolds Says "Deadpool" Movie May Address Deadpool's Hatred for "X-Men Origins: Wolverine"

Ryan Reynolds Says "Deadpool" Movie May Address DeadpoolSubmit Comment
While promoting "The Croods," Ryan Reynolds answered some questions about a "Deadpool" movie that's been in development ever since the character appeared in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

"I love Deadpool and there is a script that's in development," he said. "But it's so, so far into the R-rated zone. It's a nearly NC-17 world and I just don't know if the studio would ever risk their reputation doing it. [Deadpool] is deeply mentally disturbed and hyper violent, and that's tough to get by a studio."

Reynolds went on to say that the script constantly shows Deadpool breaking the fourth wall, and may use that to address how he was portrayed in "X-Men Origins: Wolverine."

"[He] knows he's in a movie and knows he's in a comic book," said the actor. "In the current iteration of the script, it doesn't address Wolverine though it does address Deadpool's appearance in 'Wolverine.' Deadpool was not happy with Deadpool in 'Wolverine.' He has a sort of a WTF moment with that. The script is one rewrite away from Deadpool jumping across the desk at the [20th Century Fox] studio executive and attacking him."

It will be damn cool if they preform it very cautiously and carefully.
Otherwise, it'll be like Batman and Robin all over again.

If done right, a Deadpool movie could be hilarious.

Nest week's news: "Ryan Reynolds' 'DeadPool' Movie Dead.". Because that's what's going to happen. No way this sh*t ever gets made, and if it does, it'll be downright awful. They're going to have to pay Reynold's a truckload of money and with an R or harder rating, greatly decreased revenue for a NICHE marvel character, one produced by FOX of all studios.

Give this f*cker to Robert Rodriquez for Christ's f*cking sake. He's the ONLY person who could do this even remotely right.

Robert Rodriguez would screw the film and franchise up even more than Origins.
Ever seen Planet Terror? Machete? Desperado? Every film is the same film, but with a different plot. It'll be the same way with this franchise, boring, drawn-out, dull, and just flat-out wrong exploitation. He'd probably make Deadpool's character a giant plot device for gratuitous gore and violence, by making him a "Lone ranger who's left for dead and betrayed, and the only thing on his mind is cold REVENGE"

Anyone but Rodriguez.

Those were all good off-the-wall tongue and cheek humorous movies. No one else is going to do this even close to right. Danny Boyle would have Deadpool chop his arm off whilst being chased by Indian slum zombies. Ang Lee would fill it full of sh*tty CGI animals and comic book cut screens. Michael Bay would blow everything up five minutes. Bret Ratner would f*ck it up the way only Ratner can f*ck up a ham sandwich. Stephen Spielberg would make it all cartoon CGI and a total f*cking bore and throw in a horse for no goddamned good reason. Guy Ritchie would fill it with ugly gap-toothed London gangsters named Vinnie with cameos of his c*nty wife. Paul Anderson would make Deadpool female and cast his white-trash French wife. Tobe Hooper would screw it up and have Spielberg do most of the work uncredited. See Spielberg. JJ Abrams would toss in naked women, idiot gay teenagers and blinding optical effects. And so on and so on.

As Sherlock Holmes said, one you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth.

Interesting how Reynold's is looking forward to making Deadpool, apparently, a film no one really wants so to see, but he's not interested in any more comic book movies when it comes to Justice League.

Translation: Unless I can work directly with Nolan (hint, hint), I'm Marvel's whore only.

All this talk is well and good, but its highly unlikely that a Deadpool movie will get made and even more unlikely that it would get made correctly.

I really don't see any way they'll be able to do the character justice in both the humor and the violence departments and make the movie accessible for the masses. And proper Deadpool movie is going to have to be rated R, at least. But the studio is going to want to keep it PG-13 to get the money.

And I also think more people would rather see a good Justice League movie than Deadpool.

At this snails pace it's never gonna get made and if it does it won't have RR as the lead.

It definitely does address it, a couple of years ago when it leaked I got my hands on it. It's pretty decent, has some funny bits, needs some updating though.

If anyones keen, I can forward it to you, just leave your email and I will send it in a couple of days.

I agree with Mink, Rodriguez is the only one that could do this justice. He's not afraid to put the vilonce up on the screen. Plus the f*cker has a sick sense of humor in doing it....seeing MACHETE, one of the most gratuitously violent flicks I've seen, you can tell Rodriguez would be able to pull it off.

At Rocksteddy:

I see you're not a grind house, exploitation fan, but if you wanna see Rodriguez at the top of his game adapting a violent comic, see SIN CITY. That'd really be his calling card to be a serious candidate to DEADPOOL.

He captures the violence, characters, and even shows he can really handle the SFX...Rodriguez is pretty good on his passion projects. The only thing that would repel him would be too much interference from the studio...which they shouldn't.

The reason Rodriguez is so popular is he does almost everything himself like apart from directing does the editing, soundtrack at times. He also generally goes underbudget, quick turnaround in delivering the movie with good box office numbers compared to his budgets (if not on the BO, on BVD/Blu Ray sales).
