"Jane Got a Gun" Director Quits on First Day of Filming

"Jane Got a Gun" Director Quits on First Day of FilmingSubmit Comment
"We Need to Talk About Kevin" director Lynne Ramsay was set to begin work on her latest film, "Jane Got a Gun," on Monday (March 18th) in Santa Fe. The entire cast, including Natalie Portman, Jude Law, Joel Edgerton and Rodrigo Santoro, arrived for first day of work, but were left with nothing to do because Ramsay decided to quit and didn't bother telling anyone. She just didn't show up.

"I have millions of dollars invested, we're ready to shoot, we have a great script, crew and cast," said producer Scott Steindorff. "I'm shocked and so disappointed someone would do this to 150 crew members who devoted so much time, energy, commitment and loyalty to a project, and then have the director not show up. It is insane somebody would do this to other people. But we are keeping the show going on, directors are flying in, and a replacement is imminent."

Steindorff added that there will be legal ramifications for Ramsay, who may also have to deal with other consequences, likely being black-listed by Hollywood.

In "Jane Got a Gun," Portman plays the title character, a woman whose outlaw husband returns home riddled with bullets. Convinced his gang will return to finish him off and destroy her farm, the woman turns to an ex-lover she hasn't seen in a decade to help her defend the farm.

You go girl! Woman power! What's a matter? Did that "not so fresh" feeling get the best of you?

Somehow, she got the wrong itinerary and wound up on the set of JESSE JANE GOT A GUN. She shot half a days worth of film before realizing that there wasn't supposed to be any double penetration scenes in her movie.

That's cool they're making movies based on Aerosmith songs, but I'll wait for the Starship "We Built This City", Dark City sequel adaptation.

Yes, damn good video. I remember they got the gig for THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS theme song---and they were never heard from again.

That's exactly why I mentioned it Mink. That was pretty good for even 1985.

Didn't know that Cress.

Another video that surprised me is Linkin Park's Breaking The Habit and Disturbed's rendition of Genesis' Land of Confusion. Some good animation in there. Dunno if the later is all traditional though. Probably not.

Anyway, neither are nearly as good as A-Ha's but still worth mentioning.

"That was pretty good for even 1985"

Not just good, BC, but f*cking unsurpassed, as there hasn't been a music video with hand drawn elements since then that's even half as good.

latter.

Talking about A-Ha sent me on a tangent to look for Level 42 "Something About You" music video. But there is not one goddamn post of it on YouTube or Vimeo. What the f*ck? A 26+ year old video and there is a complete blackout of it? f*ck you internet! I wanted to relive a memory and you crushed it!

lol. Thanks. I haven't seen that since the late 80s, and clearly I was a retard in my youth if I thought that as a good video. The song is still great anyways.
minkowski writes:

Cress, it's a good song, and as a video, it's light years better than the trash kids listen to now. For example:
