"Star Trek 3" Planned for 2016, Plus New "Star Trek 2" Poster

"Star Trek 3" Planned for 2016, Plus New "Star Trek 2" PosterSubmit Comment
Today we have a new poster for the upcoming "Star Trek" sequel, called "Star Trek Into Darkness," starring Chris Pine, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zachary Quinto, Simon Pegg and Simon Pegg. Check it out below.

Update: It turned out that the poster is fan-made.

Meanwhile, producer Bryan Burk admitted that there are already talks about the third "Star Trek" installment. "We're definitely talking about the next one," he said. "We don't wait to wait four years, the same amount of time between the last one and this one. [We're talking about releasing 'Star Trek 3' in 2016]. It's going to be a big year to celebrate."

2016 will mark the 50th anniversary of the franchise and Paramount Pictures would love to wrap up the new trilogy by then. Unfortunately JJ Abrams won't return to direct, but he'll still be involved as a producer.

Seriously at least try and proof read your articles. Was it bring your kid to work day or something?

pH0u57- Haha

I'm quite excited about this next film to be fair, I enjoyed the first one even though it felt like an extended TV episode instead of a movie. As long as they don't rush the third film and get Brett Ratner to direct it should be OK, I can imagine Abrahams only input as producer to be "needs more lens flare!"

reminds me of this

Professor Hubert Farnsworth: Good Lord! That's over 5000 atmospheres of pressure!

Fry: How many atmospheres can the ship withstand?

Professor Hubert Farnsworth: Well, it was built for space travel, so anywhere between zero and one.

Didn't give a sh*t about the first one. Don't give a sh*t about this one.

Hmmm. Maybe make a Star Trek movie with a strong moral. You know, like Roddenberry would have demanded, instead of this hollow, shiny Michael Bay looking sh*t.

Part3 takes place right after The Enterprise completed its tour of the ENTIRE universe, saving the countless lives of many galaxies and solar systems and galaxies and solar systems.....
To find out that someone let the dogs out and they have taken over Earth!
But WHO would do such a thing?
Who? I ask you?
Who?
Who?
Who?

Looking forward to Into Darkness, and this should be good as well. Wish Abrams were still going to direct it, but hopefully he can still keep it good as producer.

Also good it will only be three years instead of four.

Although you do raise a good point, Mink. As much as I enjoyed the first movie of the reboot, it certainly didn't match the original series and TNG (and to a certain amount, DS9) in morality tales. I think you could definitely tell the difference between early Trek (original series and early TNG) and later Trek (later TNG and other series) as Roddenberry's influence declined until his passing, and Berman's influence increasing.

Moral Mink? Funny coming from you. But seriously, Hollywood moral is stupid. The American double standard is hilarious, and people taking of their pants of for a part inn a movie are inn no position to educate audiences of any kind of moral. Take Avatar for example, tree hugging f*cking save the god damn environment peace of sh*tt!! Yeah, we got it Hollywood, we got it after the first 5 second of the movie, but we don't care when its coming from you, just kill the blue f*cking creatures and give us a laugh.
