Joss Whedon Says Hulk Rumors are Nonsense

Joss Whedon Says Hulk Rumors are NonsenseSubmit Comment
About a month ago, Latino-Review reported that "The Avengers 2" will show Doctor Strange, Iron Man and a bunch of other superheroes banish the Hulk from Earth into space. Then the new "Hulk" movie will follow the storyline of "Planet Hulk," in which the banished Hulk become a gladiator on an alien world. And finally, "The Avengers 3" will bring the Hulk back for a storyline that will follow "World War Hulk" in which he gets revenge on those who sent him away.

There were obvious problems with this. First, Latino-Review is not the most reliable for rumors (but the site did get a few stories right). Second, Marvel constantly talks about how great it is to have Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner. So it's unlikely that the studio will make movies that don't feature Banner, just Hulk.

IGN now caught up with "The Avengers" director Joss Whedon to find out if there is any truth to the rumor. "I'm really not supposed to comment," he said. "But no, that's nonsense."

In related news, Whedon swears he's not really Sinestro.

Planet Hulk is a must own,if they made THAT movie it would be the greatest Comic Movie Ever!!!

Yeah the animated movie was good, it would be an obvious choice for the next live action Hulk movie. Joss is gonna bs about for now anyways and would not admit it's in the works if it is.

My guess is a likely phase 3 movie.

Yeah you put FBI and CIA to f*ck and you get Disney.

The only good parts in Avengers are those around CGI Hulk and some bits in space, and the post credit scene showing Thanos.

Dialogue, Mise en Scene, plot, music. All that was complete bullsh*t.

And About Prometheus, it happened just the same. But that European- Metal Hurlant vibe to it, make it passable to watch it, at the least.

Hollywood last great filmmaker was Kubrick, prefer and go for other film directors outside Hollywood a million times.

Nazi queer daddy-f*ckers c*cksucking hacks of an Industry, Bi-partidist f*cks.

f*ck Off!

Planet Hulk, a.k.a. Drag Queen version of John Carter from Mars, movie, but is gonna be their redemption's song.

But more like a rip-off from the books, you know.

Planet Hulk will never be a live action film. First it's already been a live action in the form of John Garter and second, it's too far from the mainstream of the Hulk to make it a full length movie. You'd have to be 2-3 movies deep with a Ruffalo Hulk to even get Planet Hulk done. It'd be like if the X-Men franchise went straigh to the Dark Phoenix saga after the 1st film. Or if the next Man of Steel movie was the Red Son saga. Folks would be scratching their heads like "where'd this come from?"
And don't get me wrong, I loved Planet Hulk. Both the comic and the animated feature. But live action isn't happeneing anytime soon if at all.
At best, we'll get a Hulk vs. The Leader / Abomination movie to tie in before or after the Avengers 2 and then maybe another one but I highly doubt it. As much as they "love" Ruffalo, they're not climbing over each other to make Hulk movies for him.

Hated planet Hulk. They made him way too weak in it, plus it was a f*cking cartoon.
